EPISODE 5 — The Breaking Point (Continued)
Zion jerked away from Vicky.
“I’m— I’m sorry, Sasha,” he stammered.
Sasha tilted her head, smiling softly. “No need to be sorry. I already knew.”
Zion blinked, panicked. “What?”
Sasha walked closer — elegant, lethal. Vicky stepped back. Zion followed her like a coward hiding behind his mistake.
“You are pathetic,” Sasha said to Vicky, her voice calm. “And you—” she turned to Zion, “you’re just as bad.”
Zion swallowed hard. “Listen, we can work this out—”
Sasha didn’t flinch.
Didn’t soften.
Didn’t argue.
She just looked at him — really looked — with eyes cold enough to freeze bone.
And Zion realized:
Sasha wasn’t fighting for him.
She wasn’t begging.
She wasn’t breaking.
She was done.
Sasha stood there, calm, composed.
“You want her. And she wants you. Then leave together.”
Vicky stepped forward, smug. “He wants me back. You’re boring. He wants excitement. He loves me.”
Sasha laughed.
A full, shaking laugh that made Vicky’s smile falter and Zion’s stomach drop.
“Everything he is today is because of me,” Sasha said. “You didn’t want him when he was broke. But now that he’s rich? Suddenly you love him?”
Vicky’s face twisted.
Zion snapped.
He stepped forward, hand raised—
SLAP.
The sound cracked through the room like lightning.
Sasha’s head turned.
Her cheek reddened.
Her hair shifted.
Zion’s chest heaved. “You are nothing without me!”
Silence.
Vicky froze.
Zion trembled.
Sasha slowly turned her head back toward him. Her expression calm. Too calm. Her eyes cold enough to freeze bone.
And Zion realized:
He didn’t break her.
He freed her.
