CHAPTER 2

LEONARDO EMPIRE

A HIDDEN ROOM

The room was shrouded in darkness,the smell of blood filled the air and no one got disgusted by it, the only sound heard was the steady smack of bubble gum being chewed by the girl sitting across from a a man diana.

The man, bound to the chair with thick rope, strained his eyes to see her features, but the dim light made it impossible. He tried to speak, but his voice was hoarse from the gag tied tight around his mouth,he was stained with blood

Suddenly, the door creaked open, and a plume of smoke wafted in, followed by the figure of a man. He was tall, imposing, with a scar above his left eyebrow and a cigarette dangling from his lips.

"Master," diana said, her voice neutral, but with a hint of respect.

Leonardo's eyes scanned the room, his gaze lingering on the bound man before shifting to the girl.

"So, this is the one," he said, his voice low and gravelly. He took a drag on his cigarette, the ember glowing brightly in the dark.

The man's eyes locked onto Leonardo, fear creeping into his expression. Diana, on the other hand, seemed unfazed, continuing to chew her gum with a steady rhythm. Leonardo moved closer, the smoke from his cigarette curling around the man's face, making him cough.

"You're a hard man to find," Leonardo said, his voice dripping with menace.

"But I've got a message for you." He leaned in closer, his eyes glinting in the dim light.

"You're going to pay for what you did." The man's eyes widened in terror as Leonardo's words hung in the air, the only sound the diana steady gum-chewing and the soft crackle of the cigarette,the man was sweating already,he knew that Leonardo was a dangerous man indeed

Leonardo left him and his men brought him a gun

"Mmmm,hm....."he was shot right on the head ,the blood splash all over Leonardo face,his men got him a napkin,he cleaned his face and also cleaned the gun

"Dispose the body"he said firmly with no feelings in it his words

"Master in for tonight"diana said in a seduce way and the other girl was watching Mia,she was jealous

"Sure"Leonardo said with a smirk

"Master should we go to the orphanage home immediately"one of his men said

"Yes and fast"Leonardo said and they left immediately while diana smirked staring at Mia who hissed and left

ORPHANAGE HOME

Luna trudged through the orphanage's front door, her eyes cast down at the floor. Mother Superior, saw luna and went to her

"Luna, dear, how was your day? You look troubled."

Luna hesitated, unsure of how to explain the confusing events that had unfolded. She didn't want to lie, but she couldn't bear to reveal the truth either.

Just as Mother Superior was about to press for more information, Betty, Luna's closest friend at the orphanage, appeared by her side.

"Hey, Mother Superior! Luna must have gotten a bit tired after singing in the church,that's all."

Mother Superior's expression softened. "Ah, I see. Well, perhaps you two can go,i have something important to finish? Sometimes a fresh perspective helps."

Luna breathed a silent thank you to Betty as they headed to the library. Once inside, Luna turned to Betty and whispered,

"Thanks for saving me back there. I didn't know what to say."

Betty smiled knowingly. "That's what friends are for,anyways what happened to you huh"Betty asked as they went to the big living sitting room for kids

"It's Rachel,she has a boyfriend"luna said and Betty eyes widened

"What,we nuns are not supposed to have boyfriend's,our body only belongs to God"betty said surprisedly

"I'm confused"luna said still thinking about it

"Well forget about it,rachel will come back to her senses,you must be tired,come with me ,you"Betty said taking luna to their room but luna stopped when she saw two men, their faces stern and unyielding, Luna and Betty froze as the men's eyes scanned the room.

The men, dressed in dark attire, moved with a purposeful stride, their presence commanding attention. Luna and Betty exchanged worried glances

"Who are they?"luna asked holding her cross pendant suddenly mother superior came out from her private room and told the two men to come in and they did making luna and Betty surprised "what's going on?,why did those two dangerous looking men entered mother superior private room?"luna asked

"Let's find out"Betty said

"No we can't listen to their conversation it's called sin"luna said and left while betty followed her

MOTHER SUPERIOR P.R

"What are you two doing here,i told you I will bring her"mother superior said angrily

"Our master can't wait"one of the men said harshly

"Don't speak harshly to me you bîtçh or I will kill you out,tell your master that she's not ready got me"mother superior half yelled

"You don't know who our master is,he is not a patient person,if we don't get that girl,he will deal with you,who do you have in mind for him?"the other said

Mother superior smirked"luna Scott"she said

NIGHT

Betty was already asleep,luna came out from the bathroom on her PJs and went on top of the bed,she sighed and opened her journal that was beside her,she saw a photo of she and her parents celebrating her fifth birthday together,a drop of tear fell from her eyes,she opened the other page and saw her mom necklace

FLASH BLACK

Luna and her parents were in a room,luna mom was trying to call the police while luna dad was worried

"Mom is everything okay?"luna asked

"Yes honey,eric what do you do to them?,why are they after us?,why did they want to kill us huh?, answer me"luna mom half yelled but luna dad only nodded suddenly they heard strange banging on the door

"Luna hid now"luna mom said and luna ran under a table and hid herself while her mom gave her a sign to stay quiet,the door opened immediately and dangerous men got in holding guns and a man too got in,he looked super dangerous with tattoos all over his body,he was holding a small boy,whose hands were shivering

"Alexander,am sorry"luna dad muttered and Alexander,leonardo dad laughed at Emily going to Luna's mom

"Your wife is so beautiful,you have good taste"Alexander said and brought out a gun pointing on luna mom head

"Please no"Eric muttered

"Daddy"Leonardo the small boy cried also luna cried silently

"You deserve to died along with your wife"Alexander muttered

"No...."luna mom said her last word and she died after the gun shot

"No my wife"Eric cried going straight to her

"Mommy"luna yelled with tears and Leo saw luna ,their eyes locked

"Luna....."her dad said his last word before dying too

"Dad"luna cried running out of the table and heading to her parents

"This is what you call ruthless Leo son"Alexander laughed

"Sir what about their daughter"one man said

"Kill her"Alexander smirked

"No"

luna cried and dragged her mother necklace before running away

"Get her"Alexander yelled angrily and they went after her
