Lodariel sat in her parents’ hut, trying to look more confident than she felt. The Herd Father’s and Spirit Talker’s expressions were unreadable, but her mother and father looked at her with hard gazes. Daroandir, Iarion, Barlo, and Silvaranwyn sat beside her. She had just finished recounting their self-appointed scouting mission. No one had spoken for several moments.
