Chapter 3

Ariana's Pov "Dustin freaking Blackstone?!" Mercy yelled in surprise. "I was expecting that reaction but keep your voice down, you are gonna wake the whole neighborhood," I warned her. "Well, I don't care...... Hold on! Are you telling me the truth?" She asked in disbelief "What would I gain from lying about it?" I replied glaring at her. "His grandma came to you for an offer to marry her grandson? Do you even know who we are talking about here? It's Dustin Blackstone, the country's most eligible bachelor, who every girl get wet to their panties at the mention of his name." She emphasized. "Well, I didn't get wet. Did you?" I arched an eyebrow at her. "Duh! I am a girl, not a wo-man." She mocked. "Whatever." I rolled my eyes at her. "But the offer was a catchy one....... The old woman said, she'd cover my father's hospital expenses, I mean everything and would still give me a lot of money if I marry her grandson but..." "No buts!" She interjected. "You don't get this opportunity every day. Ari, this is a blessing in disguise. So, stop thinking too much about it and grab this offer." She advised "But what if the guy doesn't want to? I don't want to force myself on anybody." I shook my head no. "Did you think his grandma wouldn't have thought of how to make her grandson dance to her music before she came to you? Listen to me, all you have to do is to be his wife and enjoy all his riches." She concluded. "I am not a gold digger you know that right?" I narrowed my eyes at her. "You don't know that until you see a gold mine and weren't you just thinking of how stinkingly rich you would be after digging the gold?" She arched an eyebrow at me. "Just shut up." I kicked her. I thought over everything. My dad would get the treatment he needs, to be back on his feet, I won't have to struggle for my daily needs anymore and I will get to repay Aunt Matilda for her kindness towards me ever since my mom died but thinking of Aunt Matilda, how would she take this? "How would Aunt Matilda take this?" I asked Mercy. "My mom? We will have to convince her somehow." She said. "But how?" I asked confused. "But you need Dustin to be able to convince her." She concluded. "What?! Someone that doesn't even know me yet! Are you serious? I do not know if he will like me or not." I jabbered. "Chillax, okay? It's simple, how did you get this offer?" She asked. "His grandmother," I answered. "So, are you thinking what I am thinking?" She asked with her head c****d to the side. "No! I can't be thinking the way you think...... Your thoughts are way beyond me." I shook my head. "Urg! You are so annoying sometimes. Well, you get his grandmother to make him convince my mom that he met you, fell in love with you and would want to marry you, that's all." She elaborated. She was making a whole lot of sense with what she explained. But I still couldn't help but think of how Dustin would see me. Will he like me or not? The bedroom door opened and Claire entered, she was in the living room the whole time watching cartoons. 'I will be able to use the law on her foster parents and find her a new home.' I thought to myself and went to bed after doing my night routines. I woke up the next morning with swollen eyes, because I couldn't get any sleep from thinking too much about the whole 'Dustin Blackstone' issue. I got up from my bed, went to stand by the window, I took out the card Mrs. Blackstone gave to me, looked at it then brought out my phone to give her a call. The phone rang three times then was answered at the fourth ring. "Hello, Blackstone villa. How may I help you?" A feminine voice answered the phone, it obviously must be one of the maids working in the house because the Mrs. Blackstone I met, doesn't have a youthful voice. "Hello, this is Ariana Bond. I'd love to speak to Mrs. Carina Blackstone." I answered. "Hold on, while I transfer your call to her." She said politely. A few seconds later, an elderly voice spoke. "Hello, Ariana?" She greeted. "Hello, ma'am. About the offer, I am willing to." I said. "Really? Did you give it enough thoughts?" She asked me but I could hear the excitement in her voice. "Yes, I did but the only situation I have now is how to convince my Aunt." I said to her. "How do you intend to do that? Is there anyway I can help? Let me know." She offered. "Yes, I think I will need your grandson to convince her with me." I said. "You need not to worry, leave that to me....... Ariana? You have just made this old woman happy with your answer. Thank you for considering it." She said. "I am only doing this for my dad. I need him to wake up." I answered. "I assure you, I shall keep my own side of the agreement." She promised. "Keep your phone near you, you shall hear from me soon." She said. "I will do so." I assured her. "Bye for now, Ariana." She said and hung up. Well, it's been decided, there is no going back now. I heaved a sigh of relief. "That's more like it." I heard Mercy's voice from behind me. "I am glad you came to your senses." She smirked. "Just admit it Mercy, you want to have a Blackstone as a cousin, that's it" I narrowed my eyes at her. "Uhhhh! You read my mind." She acted surprised. Claire entered the room and i went to her, bent to her level. "I promised to get you justice right?" I asked her and she nodded. "Now, I will be able to." I broke the news to her excitedly. "Uh? How? Did you get a lawyer?" She asked confused. "A miracle happened from God and now you will be able to get the Justice you deserve and I promise to find you a happy home, okay?" I said to her, she nodded happily and hugged me. I got ready and went to my morning job. Dustin Pov "Come on man, think about the proposition." Benjamin tried to convince me. "Not interested." I said dismissively while signing some paperworks left on my desk by my assistant. "What will you do if your grandma decides to choose for you? And you there is no limit to what she can do." He reasoned out. "Leave that to me." I said still not looking up from what I was doing. My office door opened and Stella my assistant entered hurriedly, looking worried and tensed. "Sir, I just got a call from Jasper, Grandma Carina has been taken to the hospital due to some complications." She reported, her face contorted worry. "What?!" I got up from my seat, took my jacket from the hanger and hurried out of the office with Ben following after me. I entered into the passenger seat of my car with Benjamin, instructed my driver to drive to the hospital as fast as possible. "Dustin?" Ben called. "If you are going to be talking about that damn proposition again......" I glared. "Not that, dude. It's something else." He countered. "What!" I snapped. "How about we bet ten thousand bucks?" He gambled. "On what?" I asked confused. "That your grandma isn't sick." He smirked. "Why would you say that?" I asked him annoyed. "This shouldn't be new to you....... I think this is her old trick of getting you to dance to her music." He reasoned. "You think I don't know that? Of course I do but let's just get there. You never know, it could be serious this time." I said to him and he agreed. A few minutes later, the car stopped in front of the hospital and I rushed in to see my grandma. When I got to her special ward, I saw her lying on the bed, with IV drips injected in her veins. "Good afternoon sir." Jasper greeted politely. "What happened?" I asked, couldn't keep my eyes off my grandmother. "We heard a heavy thud from her room and I rushed to the scene, I saw her lying on the floor, with her dress rolled up her thighs almost showing her underwear...." He reported but I stopped him before he could go on. "That's enough, I didn't ask for that much. You may return to your post." I ordered, he nodded and left to stand by the door. I walked to her and held her hand in mine. "Hello Mister Blackstone." The doctor greeted. I did not notice when he came. "Hello doctor, how is my grandmother doing? What's the situation now?" I asked him "Well, according to the report I have here, Mrs Blackstone fainted due to her blood pressure being too high. I guess she must have been thinking a lot on something and you how it is Mister Blackstone, thinking too much is not good for our old ones." The doctor said. "Tsk tsk tsk. But what could she have been thinking of?" Benjamin's chimed in a mockery manner and I glared at him to shut up but he ignored it. "Come on grandma, I know you can hear us....... Just tell us whatever it is that made you fake your current health situation and we shall have Dustin do it." He smirked with his arms folded on his torso. "Ben, what the hell?" I glared at him. Grandma moved In her sleep, opened her eyes and sat up on the bed. "Why are you here? Who I wanted to see is Dustin. How come you follow him everywhere?" She snarled at him. I folded my arms over my chest "So, you were faking it after all?" I narrowed my eyes at her. "Not really." She shrugged. "So what do you want this time?" I c****d my head to the side. "You know what she has always wanted. For you to get married!" Ben said. "Leave my room." She hissed. Ben scoffed and went out of the room. "Grandma, I told you I am not ready for marriage. Why do you keep forcing me to get married? Shouldn't it be my decision?" I spoke out my mind. "No! I do not want your time, it could be too far...... I want to see you have a family of your own before I die and who knows, it could be few days or months, so I want you to get a wife." She snapped. To say I wasn't affected by what she said, would be a blatant lie, what she said got to me hard. "Don't say that. You aren't dying anytime soon, understood?" I warned her. "You are not God neither are you death. So, who are you to decide?" She said and looked away. I gave what she said a deep thought and concluded to give her what she wanted. "Fine. Is that what you want? For me to get married?" I asked. "Will you?" Her grey eyes had a glow in them. "If you promise to stop being sick or pretending to be." I bargained with her. "Sure, I will be fine." She said excitedly. "I will bring a wife to you." I assured her. "No, I found one for you." She said what I thought she said. "What?!" Ben and I said in unison. I looked towards the entrance and saw his head peeped in. "You found me a wife?" I turned back to my grandmother. "Yes, and she is a good girl." She affirmed dreamily. "I knew it, I knew this was going to happen. I warned you didn't I?" Ben said. "I told you to get out." She snapped at Ben and he went out. "She is a good girl. I already assessed her and you are going to end up falling in love with her." She tried to convince me. "What era are we grandma? This is the 21st century, no one finds a wife for anybody these days, and what if i do not end up loving her?" I said plainly. "I assure you, you will. She is going to be here soon." She announced. "She is coming here? Are you serious? You already had the meeting set?" I asked in disbelief. "Yes, I did. This would be the perfect day to meet each other, since she will be coming to the hospital to see her father too." She said. "Her father works in this hospital?" I asked confused. "No, he is a vegetative patient here." She replied sadly. "Now, I think I know how you got her to want to marry me. Did you offer her money and how much?" I asked her still in disbelief. "Well, I promised to settle her father's hospital expenses and give her anything else she wants." She explained. "You paid a woman to marry me? You are so unbelievable. I can get any woman I want. I am the country ty's most eligible bachelor. All I have to do is to snap my fingers and I will have them lined up in front of me." I said with pride. "And you will only end up getting yourself gold diggers." She said. "And this one you paid to marry me is not a gold digger? Why would she want to marry me after you offered her those things? It shows that she is a gold digger." I said to her. "Excuse me. I am not a gold digger." I turned to the source of the voice and I saw her. She looked young, probably in her early twenties. "We all have reasons to why we go the extra miles for the ones we love. You are your grandma's reason and my dad is my own reason." She said sternly. Her amber eyes peered into my own copper brown ones, her pepper and salt hair was made in a messy bun, leaving stray hair down her face, her bowed shaped lips were slightly opened. I looked from her hair to her well packaged breast, underneath her shirt, they looked plumped and sexy, my eyes traveled down to her curvy hips covered in those crazy jean pants. She doesn't look too thick nor too thin. Average, if I must say. Well, she is okay but still not my type of woman. ***********
