Irina had been home a few days, her bruises had healed, and Libby was acting more like her usual self. "You know, it's a good thing he's gone," Libby whispered in her human's mind. The wolf was beyond thankful to no longer be mated to Oby and while the pain of the rejection stung her deeply, she was relieved. Oby had been a terrible mate and delusional. "But he was our mate," Irina murmured, mourning what could have been. "They may have been our mate, but they weren't good for us," Libby said.
