Alexa, watching everything unfold, suddenly burst out in anger, “What the hell is going on here? Daniel, what is all this? Will you explain something to me? How can this little girl talk like that? And she dared to call me auntie? From which angle do I look like her auntie? She insulted me! Daniel, you should punish her. I’m your future wife. Why are you staying quiet?”
But before Daniel could say anything, Rose lifted her fiery little eyes and glared at Alexa. Just one look at those burning eyes was enough to send a shiver through Alexa. For a second, she actually felt afraid.
Controlling herself, Alexa gritted her teeth and snapped, “Daniel, look at her! She’s glaring at me as if she’s about to eat me alive. How can this child behave like this? And how dare she try to pull you away from me? You’re mine, Daniel—not hers!”
Saying that, she tried to grab Daniel’s hand. But before she could, Rose sank her sharp little teeth deep into Alexa’s hand.
“Ahhhh!” Alexa screamed in pain.
But Rose didn’t let go. She kept biting harder, her eyes blazing with an anger far too intense for a child. Alexa’s eyes welled up with tears as she cried out desperately, “Daniel! Help me! She’s biting me, it hurts! She’s going to eat me alive! Please, Daniel, help me!”
Daniel stood silent, watching. Only after a few moments did he finally move. He lifted Rose into his arms and, with a cold look, shoved Alexa aside.
“I already told you to leave, Alexa,” he said harshly. “But you didn’t listen. Next time, don’t you dare come here until I call you.”
Saying that, he walked out with Rose clinging to him, her tiny arms wrapped tightly around his neck. As they left, Rose shot Alexa one last sharp glare that sent chills down her spine.
Alexa looked down at her hand, red and swollen from Rose’s bite. Tears streamed down her face. Through gritted teeth, she spat, “I hate you! The pain you’ve given me today—I’ll repay you with a thousand times worse. I’ll make you suffer in ways you can’t even imagine. Just wait and watch!”
But Rose only buried her face in Daniel’s chest, a strange little smile curling at her lips.
Daniel carried her back to the room. He set her down on the bed, grabbed her chin, and said angrily, “Didn’t I tell you not to leave the room? Why didn’t you obey me? Do you know what happens to people who disrespect my orders? They get punished. Do you want punishment too?”
Rose quietly nodded her tiny head in agreement.
Daniel’s eyes narrowed. “How many times have I told you to answer me in words? You were speaking so well earlier. What happened now?”
Rose slowly lifted her head, locked her blue eyes with his deep brown ones, and whispered, “I’m hungry, Uncle. Feed me.”
Daniel’s eyes darkened. “You mean you still haven’t eaten anything? I told you to finish your breakfast. Did that maid not bring it to you? Seems like she doesn’t value her life…”
He turned to storm out, but Rose caught his sleeve. He stopped and looked back. “What now? What is it?”
Softly, Rose replied, “She brought it. But I want to eat from your hands.”
Daniel’s expression shifted. “So that’s why you refused to eat? Because I wasn’t here?”
Rose lowered her head and nodded.
