Then a deep voice rang out, "A simple death isn’t enough. Burn the house too. I want to hear him scream."
Vivienne’s world shook. He looked toward the gate and saw a man in black. About 27 years old, his face radiated seriousness. With hands in his pockets, he stared at Vivienne without emotion.
Vivienne ran to him, clutching his legs. "Mister D, please! Have mercy! I was wrong! I’ll serve you forever! Please don’t kill me!"
In the next moment, the man kicked Vivienne in the face. Blood streamed from his mouth.
The man crushed his shoe on the ground and said, flatly, "How dare you touch me? Traitors can’t lay a hand on me. Cut off his hands. Burn him alive inside this house. I want nothing of this house or man left."
He stormed out, leaving Vivienne crying as the guards prepared the fire. Flames rose, screams echoed in the night. The man watched with a devilish smile.
His assistant arrived, panicked. "Sir, we couldn’t find his daughter inside!"
Daniel’s expression darkened. "Where could she be? Did anyone see her leave?"
"No, sir. We didn’t see her go out," replied the assistant.
Daniel roared in anger, "Then find her! She must burn too! I cannot spare traitors, even if it’s a child!"
The assistant bowed and began searching frantically.
Moments later, he returned, "Sir, we found the girl in the backyard."
A wicked smile spread across Daniel’s face. He grabbed his gun and strode toward the backyard. "Great job! Now it’s her turn."
He flung open the backyard door. Darkness. But a sobbing sound came from under the bed. Daniel’s grin darkened further as he approached.
He bent slightly and said in a heavy voice,
"Baby girl… see who’s come to meet you."
The girl stopped crying instantly, shocked under the bed as the voice reached her ears.
