Answer me damn it

1237 Words
Daniel, seeing Rose remain silent, snapped in anger, “Why don’t you ever answer me? I asked you something—now give me an answer!” At his outburst, Rose lowered her head even more and stayed quiet. Watching her silence again, Daniel clenched his fists and said, “So, you love testing my patience, huh? Fine. You’re still young, so I’ll forgive you. But let me tell you, I absolutely hate being ignored—especially by you.” Saying that, he handed her a glass of water. Rose quietly drank it. Then Daniel stood up and said, “Now rest. And listen carefully—you’re not allowed to go out anywhere. If you step outside this time, you’ll be punished.” Hearing this, Rose instantly lifted her head and softly asked, “But… where are you going, leaving me behind?” Her voice made Daniel narrow his eyes. “When I asked whether you study, whether you even attend school, you didn’t utter a single word. And now that I’m about to leave, you suddenly find your voice? What exactly do you want, Rose? Why don’t you answer my questions properly?” Rose lowered her head again, then timidly clutched his sleeve and whispered, “I want to go with you.” Daniel replied flatly, “I’m going to the office. I can’t take you there. You need to rest here. Soon, clothes will arrive for you—change into them. As for your school, I’ll take care of it. From now on, you’re only my responsibility. Your future story…I’ll be the one writing it. Take care of yourself.” Saying this, he turned to leave. But Rose quickly ran after him and clung to his legs, pleading, “Don’t leave me! Take me with you! I don’t want to stay here, I want to go with you!” Daniel’s expression darkened. Grinding his teeth, he said, “Don’t you understand? I’m going to the office, not on a picnic. I don’t do normal work—things can get dangerous. Stay here quietly.” He tried to pull her away from his leg, but Rose pushed her small head against his knees, stubbornly yelling, “I want to go with you! I want to go with you! I don’t want to stay alone, Uncle!” Daniel hissed in frustration, “You’re unbelievably stubborn. Why can’t you understand in one go?” But Rose repeated firmly, “Rose wants to go with you. Rose will not stay here alone.” Finally, Daniel sighed deeply, giving in. “Okay, alright! Stop this stubbornness now. I’ll take you to the office—but this is the last time. After today, you will stay at home.” The very next second, Rose’s blue eyes sparkled with delight. She lifted her little face and stared at Daniel. Catching her gaze, Daniel grabbed her wrist and warned coldly, “Stop staring at me like that. I don’t like it.” Saying this, he took her along and left for the office. But meanwhile, Max, who had witnessed them leaving, muttered furiously, “So now you’re even taking this girl into our private office? You’ve completely lost your mind, Daniel! You don’t realize what a huge mistake you’re making. One day, this girl will become your biggest danger—you have no idea.” --- At Wilson Industries, All the employees were wide-eyed, staring only at Rose—who walked proudly beside Daniel into the CEO’s cabin. Everyone was shocked, because they knew their boss was a stone-hearted man, someone whose own family rarely came near him. And today, a little girl was holding his hand and walking into his office. But just before entering the cabin, Daniel stopped and, without glancing at anyone, said in an icy tone, “If anyone dares to even look at this girl, I’ll rip their eyes out.” The room went dead silent, and everyone instantly looked away from Rose. Daniel brought her inside the cabin, made her sit on the sofa, and said, “Now sit here quietly. I’m going to work, don’t disturb me. I hate disturbances.” Rose nodded innocently. Daniel patted her head and leaned back in his king-size chair, starting his work. About fifteen minutes later, there was a knock on the door. Without looking up from his laptop, Daniel said firmly, “Come in.” A young assistant entered in a short formal dress, placed a file on his desk, and said in an attractive voice, “Good morning, sir. I’ve placed Mr. Braganza’s file on your table. I’ve checked it, but please go through it once and let me know if you find any mistakes.” As she spoke, she slowly moved closer to Daniel. His focus remained on his laptop, so without looking at her, he just said, “Okay.” Smiling, the assistant continued, “Sir, you’ve been working way too hard these days. Let me give you a massage.” Without waiting for a response, she placed her soft hands on his shoulders, beginning to massage him. Daniel’s hands froze over the keyboard, his face tightening. Meanwhile, Rose, who had been playing with a teddy bear, saw everything. Her innocent eyes turned blood-red, glaring at the assistant with an unnerving intensity. The assistant suddenly felt a chilling sensation, as if someone were staring at her with deadly eyes. She looked around nervously—only to find the little girl on the sofa, staring at her with stone-cold, piercing eyes. The sight sent shivers down her spine. Still, forcing a smile, the assistant said sweetly, “Oh my God! Such a beautiful little girl. Sir, is she the one everyone’s been whispering about since morning? Who is she? She looks so innocent and pretty.” Saying this, she walked toward Rose. But Rose’s glare didn’t waver. Daniel, noticing, said coldly, “You don’t need to know who she is. Stay away from her—or it could be dangerous for you.” The assistant frowned in confusion. “Dangerous? Sir, what are you talking about? She’s just a child. What harm could she possibly cause me? You must be joking.” Ignoring his warning, she bent down, stretched her hand out to pat Rose’s head, and said, “Baby, what’s your name? Will you tell me your name?” But the moment she leaned closer, Rose suddenly shoved her with full force. The assistant lost balance and fell flat on the floor, face-first. “Ahhhh!” Daniel’s fists clenched tightly at the sight. Meanwhile, Rose rushed over to him, lifted her tiny arms in the air, and demanded angrily, “Uncle, I want to sit in your lap!” Daniel frowned. “What kind of misbehavior is this?” But Rose snapped back, “Uncle, let me sit in your lap. I want to sit in your lap now!” Daniel closed his eyes in frustration. “Why can’t you ever answer me directly?” But Rose repeated stubbornly, “Uncle, put me in your lap—or I’ll climb up myself.” Before he could react, she clambered up into his lap by force, wrapping her little arms around his neck. Then, glaring at the assistant, she shouted fiercely, “Stay away from my uncle. Don’t touch my uncle!” The assistant, who had just managed to stand up, collapsed back onto the floor in shock.
