Darius didn’t sleep beside me.
Not that I expected him to.
After that vision, after the shared silence, there was a wall between us again—one not built from hate or betrayal this time, but fear.
And worse?
Unspoken truth.
I could feel it pulsing beneath his skin, in the way he looked at me like I might explode if he said the wrong word.
But I was done being kept in the dark.
So at sunrise, I stormed into his tent.
“What aren’t you telling me?” I demanded.
He barely flinched. “Now’s not the time.”
“Make time, Alpha,” I snapped. “Before I force it.”
His eyes narrowed. “You don’t want the truth.”
“Yes. I do.”
