Chapter 2

723 Words
The sight of the two of them with their clothes rumpled made my vision swim and my knees go weak. They said they'd been worried about me, yet neither of them had called once. Instead, they had been making out on my couch without bothering to cover it up. "What were you two doing?" I asked through clenched teeth, my whole body shaking. Aaron rose to his feet at an unhurried pace. "Weren't you upset? So I let you put me through the same test. Nothing happened between us. We only wanted to find out if people really lose control when they're drunk. Looks like I passed." My heart clenched. A test I had never agreed to? The hickeys on his neck stood out at a glance. I couldn't stop imagining Yuna leaving them there one after another. Yet whenever we were together, he never let me leave a mark where anyone could see. He always said it looked bad if people at work noticed. So I had always been careful not to leave anything on his neck. Yet with Yuna, none of those rules seemed to matter. The thought nearly suffocated me. Every bit of trust I had in them was gone. I gave a bitter laugh. "You decided to test me without my permission. You decided to test yourselves without asking me too. Whatever happened between you is none of my business. I only came back to pack my things." I didn't care to listen to another excuse. Staying in that house for another second made me feel sick. The distance in my voice made Aaron's face darken. "Didn't you get mad this afternoon? That's why I let you test me back. Sarah, why are you acting like this?" I felt it was ridiculous. He messed around with Yuna, yet somehow I was the one at fault. Yuna quickly spoke up. "Right, Sally. We really didn't do anything. We never actually had s*x. See? The condom was opened, but we never used it. Aaron didn't betray you." She spread her palm and held up the wrinkled condom. My whole body went cold. So that wasn't cheating? "Fine. Believe whatever you want." I no longer had the energy to argue. If this had happened before, I would've dragged Aaron into our bedroom and demanded an explanation like a crazy woman. Not this time. They had ignored my safety for the sake of some stupid test. There was nothing they wouldn't do. "Sarah, is this really how you're going to act?" Aaron snapped. "What more do you want? You started this by getting mad. I let you test me back. Why can't you let it go? I already told you nothing happened!" I fired back without hesitation, "Whether you wanted to sleep together or hide behind this ridiculous test, only the two of you know what really happened!" Aaron stiffened for a moment and shot Yuna a glance. I had had enough and yelled at him. He always thought I'd stay by his side no matter what kind of test he put me through. But this time, I was leaving for good, and I wasn't looking back. Yuna walked over and reached for my arm. "Sally, nothing happened between us. If you don't believe me, I'll show you the security video. We recorded the whole thing." "Leave me alone!" My stomach churned the moment she said that. They had actually recorded something like that. What did they think my home was? I shook off her hand and stepped away. Yuna let out a cry as she stumbled into Aaron and twisted her ankle. Aaron caught her, then shoved me aside with his free hand. My lower back slammed into the edge of the table. A sharp pain tore through me. I sucked in a breath and couldn't stand up straight. "Sarah, stop acting so heartless! Yunie is your best friend. How could you treat her like that?" Fighting through the pain, I looked over and saw Aaron holding Yuna tightly, his eyes filled with worry. "Come on. I'll take you to the hospital." He swept Yuna into his arms and hurried out. I was the only one left in the house. Cold sweat soaked my forehead. I picked up my phone and replied to my mother's message. Sarah: I'll move overseas with you.
