Alpha Cash walked up to Jaxen, he was looking out to the vast lands from the front porch of the packhouse. He was looking distant and brooding, he had tried to talk to Adelaide but she excused herself quickly from the awkward conversation and went into hiding. Jaxen didn’t notice Cash walking up to him, he was so engulfed in his thoughts that even his werewolf senses didn’t alert him.
“I need to talk to you beta Jaxen.”
Jaxen was spooked and almost jumped up as Cash spoke to him, he tried for a smile but his lips barely moved. His eyes were sad and looked like deep pools that anyone could get lost in, it was a beaten version of Jaxen in front of the alpha.
“What do you need alpha Cash?” Jaxen sounded uninterested and dejected.
