Lucas cleared his throat loudly to indicate that maybe this wasn't something we should talk about in front of our guests.
"It's fine Lucas," Bethany admonished. "Evelyn will take care of it for me."
Lucas nodded. "I'm glad you feel that way. It saves me having to ask."
"Do you lot always talk in riddles?" Charlie was squinting at everyone around the table. I wondered if the cocktails had affected her sight. They certainly had affected her posture, she was slumped down in her chair. They also appeared to make her more nasty than she usually was. And that was pretty difficult to do.
