Despite the squeezing of my hand and the couple of extra beeps on the monitor, Jane Doe remained exactly as she had been since she was admitted to the hospital.
I spent some time sitting with her and chatting about mundane bits and pieces in the hope that I might wake her up, but there were no further changes.
