Dr. Anika Scott is back

CHAPTER 30

— Anika —

Today is a great day ahead of me, I knew it since Isaac woke me up with a great news and gave me my white coat, my favorite but I knew something is wrong.

Isaac always wanted me to stay at the house, never leave the house without bodyguards. I was never allowed to walk or pay visits on the nearby tourist spots. Never allowed to walk alone, that’s why when he told me today was my first day at Mr. Tan’s hospital I was confused and doubted the situation. It seems not the Isaac I know, his strict rules of me not allowed of getting out was suddenly broke because of this new news. I was not dumb to know what is happening. I knew Isaac, I know he was up to something, I know he was hiding something, he was planning something behind my knowledge. In order for me to know what his up to is I need to act mindless of his actions. I know this is about me, he knew easily I was adopted so I know it will be easy for him to know everything about me.

On the other hand, I have doubt on this but I can’t deny the fact I’m so happy I’m back with my first love. Besides, with this I know I can find something about Isaac’s plan.

I took a nice bath to ease my nerves pounding with excitement and doubt at the same time. After taking a bath I settle with a Yellow Knee length dress that emphasizes my curves well. I don’t have work attires in my closet so I guess I have to make some shopping to wear appropriate clothes at the hospital. I put moisturizers and collagen cream, I wear an everyday look makeup ended with a nude matte lipstick. I put some perfume and wear my Rolex watch. I use my Hermes yellow bag to put my wallet which have money inside that was put by Isaac, my phone, alcohol, pens and my coat, I ended with a black 2 inches heels. I check myself first at the vanity mirror before I walk to the Library. Isaac texted me to call him for breakfast there.

After the little argument at the Library we eat the breakfast still Isaac’s telling me some Do’s and Don’ts like a kid who will attend first day at school.

Isaac even come with me at the hospital which is very annoying, his ruining my excitement.

“I’m not a kid who will attend school for the first time. You don’t need to drop me by at the hospital.” I said in irritation as we drive going to the hospital.

“I know but I want to secure the area first. Just let me do it Anika, so I can work on my office at peace.” He said like pleading which makes my heart flinch at what he said.

“I’ll always be okay, I’m a survivor you know.” I said to light up the atmosphere.

He chuckle and there I saw the most attractive smile a man can have.

“You really are my woman” He said as he stop the car in front of the hospital.

I saw Mr. Tan and some of the Doctor’s I assume will be my colleagues standing at the door way.

Isaac open the passenger’s door for me and offer his hand to help me get out of the car. I gladly reach his hands for assistance.

“Welcome to Tan Medical Hospital Ms. Anika and Mr. Isaac” Mr. Tan said bowing together with the other doctors on us.

“Thank you Mr. Tan.” I replied while Isaac stands beside me with a blank expression showing power the way he stands and looks at people.

“Thank you for finally accepting our offer Ms. Anika. You’ll be a great help to this institution.” Mr. Tan said retrieving me back from staring at Isaac.

Before I was able to answer to Mr. Tan, Isaac grabs my waist and whisper into my ear.

“I’ll kill anyone who touches you here.” He said that give shivers to my spine. All of a sudden I was speechless.

“The boys are here to stay with you” He added pointing at Buck, Earl and Blake at the back who was checking the area.

“I’ll leave now, take care and have a great day ahead Dr. Anika Scott” Isaac said and kiss my head.

He wink at me before he gets inside the car. I watch the car run fast away from the hospital followed by two more black cars.

“Shall we?” Mr. Tan said gesturing inside the hospital.

“I want you to meet the board members first before showing you your office and the rest of our teams.” Mr. Tan said as we walk inside the hospital hallway.

This hospital looks quite big but our hospital back at the America was bigger. As soon as we enter here, all eyes fell on me and started to murmur, same scenario every day as I enter our hospital before.

“I have a request Mr. Tan” I said while still walking.

“Sure Ms.” He replied we’re still followed by some of his doctors.

“I don’t want special treatment” I said straightly which makes Mr. Tan stop walking.

“You really are one of a kind Ms. Anika” Mr. Tan said and chuckle, we continued walking at the elevator going up the board room. 

I saw the three men of Isaac followed us and take the stairs going. 

Buck open the door for me and before I enter, I whisper at them. 

"Just stay here, you don't need to go inside." I said in low tone. 

"We're not allowed to stay here outside while you are inside Ma'am" Buck said which makes me roll my eyes. Instead of arguing I bargain with them to cut the conversation. 

"Okay, just one person and the other two stay here outside." I said looking at them. 

Blake was the one who opens the door so I guess he will be the one coming with me inside the boardroom. 

Everyone stands and bow at me when I enter the room, I stop and bow a little at them to pay respect. I suddenly felt the old me, the old Anika, bowed and respected by every doctors who knew me.
