CHAPTER 29

— Isaac—

After reading the whole content of Anika’s file I went back to my room, as soon as I enter the room I look at Anika who was in slumber, sleeping silently hugging the pillow in replacement of my body. I lay down beside her and put her head on my arms and hug her tight.

“I found a treasure” I uttered caressing her face.

“Now that you’re on my life, I will do anything to protect you and make you happy.” I added still looking at her face.

I have to think of ways to come to her father and questioned him without Anika’s knowledge, I better do it now before anyone knows she’s with me, but first I need to make her busy. How can I make you busy? I asked in thoughts. I think of one thing to make this woman busy, the only option I have.

I kissed at Anika’s head before I close my eyes and decided to join Anika into slumber.

I woke up with the sound of the alarm clock on our bed side table, it was 5:30 in the morning. I pressed it hard like it was going to be wreck anytime soon. I rub my eyes to help my senses wake up. I look at Anika and she was still in deep sleep. I again put the pillow in replacement of me. I need to prepare everything before she wakes up.

I pick up my phone and dial Jake’s number.

“What man?” He said in annoyance in the other line. He seems still half asleep.

“I need you to call Mr. Han, Anika will work in their hospital starting today.” I said not minding what he said.

“What?” He shouted in disbelief.

“Shut up! You’re too loud.” I said in angrily but in a low tone because I might disturb Anika.

“I’m sorry, it was just not you, are you sure about this?” He asked

“Yes, I’ll meet you after 30 minutes in my office.” I said then hang up the phone.

I took a nice bath to wake up and relax my nerves because I know today will be a long day ahead of me. I know Anika will ask a lot, but I’m ready. I just hope I can convince that smart woman.

As soon as I get out of the bath, I checked Anika first and went to the closet to change. Of course as usual I choose a black long sleeves and pants with a red neck tie, a black leader shoes top with a black coat. I put on my Rolex watch and spray some perfume. I glance at Anika before leaving the room. I headed directly at the office which is a few steps away from my room. As I open the door, there is Jake sitting on the couch with a cup of coffee in his head.

“Coffee” He offered as he sip on his cup.

“No, I’ll have breakfast with Anika later, thanks” I said as I sit of my swivel chair.

“Have you called Mr. Tan?” I asked while calling my secretary, my legal secretary who works for my legal businesses.

“Yes, he said he will handle everything.” Jake replied.

“Good! Thanks” As soon as I finished talking talking to Jake, my secretary picked up the call.

“I want you to prepare all documents needed for Anika Scott. I need that before 8:30.” I hang up the phone as soon as I finish giving instructions.

Jake is now sitting on the chair in front of my table, that signals his ready to hear my plans. I need to discuss it with him well because he will be the one relaying it to the boys. Before we ended I made sure he got all the files needed.

“Assign buck to secure the perimeter within the hospital before Anika go there.” I said before leaving the office.

I headed to my room to wake up Anika. She’ll jump out of bed for sure if I spill the bean, which is a great news for her I’m pretty sure. I open the door and walk into the bed to see her still on her deep and silent sleep.

“Wake up my sunshine.” I said caressing softly her hair. She gently move to lift up her face to check me.

“Good morning beautiful” I said as she sneak, her eyes half close. She smiled which makes the day complete even though I know it will be a long day.

“How sweet of you to wake up your beautiful soon to be wife.” She said with eyes still close. We’ll that definitely what I loved about her.

“Actually I wanted to just watch you all day but I guess I have to wake you up to tell you something very important.” I said as I stand sit on the couch. She immediately stands also like being alarmed. I chuckled in her gesture.

She stand glowing like slept from a beauty rest and her messy hair adds on to her alluring body. I wanted to kiss her from that moment and make her lips mine all day.

“I have something for you.” I said and gave her a box. What inside the box is somehow rush so I hoped she’ll still love it.

“Really?” She said and get the white box.

She untie the ribbon first before removing the cover.

She looks confuse seeing the white coat printed her name on the pocket.

“A doctor’s coat? What is this for?” She said looking at me so confuse and excitement flash her eyes the same time.

“If I we’re you, I’ll take a quick bath now because Mr. Tan is waiting for you at his office. You don’t want to be late on your first day.” I said winking at her.

She abruptly jumped into me with excitement like a kid who was at last given the chance to play at the park. I hold her waist for her not to fall on the floor.

“Thank you! Thank you!” She said as he rain kisses on my face.

“Everything for my Anika.” I said and lock her lips into mine. Her morning breath taste like coffee that you will immediately become alive after drinking.

We pulled out from kissing as we lean our forehead with each other.

“I love you so much my Anika.” I said looking straight into her green beautiful eyes.

“I love you too and thank you.” She replied and rush to the bathroom.

With that I know I made the right decision to distract her so that I can go on with my plans.

I go down stairs to the Library where I know the boys are gathered by Jake.

As I open the door, I saw Jake discussing in-front of the boys.

“Is everything clear? Do you have questions?” Jake asked as he close his folder.

“None sir” The boys said in unison.

“Make sure you take everything you need before you go out of the house. No messing around, I don’t want unfinished business.” I said glaring at everyone.

“Yes Boss” They said in chorus.

“Buck, Blake and Earl I want you to fast track your assignment and then come with Anika at the hospital.” I said looking at the three.

They nodded in response.

I walk out of the room and headed to my office to sign some important papers while waiting for Anika.

“Are the document I asked you to prepare ready?” I asked my secretary who was on the other line.

“Yes boss, I coordinate with Blake to get the documents in your office.” She replied

“Okay.” I said and then hang up the phone.

I look at my watch and it’s 15 minutes before 7, I know Anika is not yet ready. I texted he to call me at the office before breakfast so we can eat together.

I focus on the paper works on my table while drinking coffee.

My focus was interrupted when someone knocks the door. I know it was Anika, and I was right, the door open revealing the face of the most beautiful person I met. She was wearing a yellow dress that hug her body tightly up to her knees, her smile reach her ears. 

"Breakfast?" She said still holding on to the doors. 

"Sure! But before that, would you might if we talk for some important reminders Dr. Scott?" I said, Anika walks into the sit on the chair in front of me. 

"I just want to have some little rules for you my girl, first no overtime and no Saturday's and Sunday's work, Saturday and Sunday is Isaac's day." I said raising pointy finger. 

"Second, Buck and Blake and Earl will always be with you everyday at the hospital while bringing your phone everywhere you go." I said raising two of my fingers already. 

"Seriously?" Anika said annoyance can be felt in her voice. 

"I'm not done yet" I said interrupting what she have to say. 

"No man allowed, or else I will lock you up straight into my room." I said threatening her. 

She rolled her eyes and fold her arms under her chest. 

"It's either you take it or stay in the house." I said leaning on the chair. 

"Fine! As if you leave me with a choice." She said then shakes her head. 

"Good! Then let's take our breakfast because I'm really hungry, or you want me to eat you instead." I said as I stop walking and look at her face. 

She glare at me and I laugh with her expression. 

This woman really made my day.
