Am I ready?

Chapter 41

— Anika —

I spent the whole night and dawn checking and monitoring Isaac’s condition. Every minute passed was so painful. Jake even went to our room to check on us, suggesting for us to do switches for me to have a rest but I insisted I can manage, I’m determined Isaac will wake up soon, time passes and I didn't notice it was already sunrise, with the eagerness to make Isaac wake up makes me forget about resting. I sit beside Isaac’s bed and bend my head while holding his hand.

“See you in a while Isaac” Soon, finally, sleeps envelopes me.

I was woken up by a soft and comfy bed under a blanket. I stretch a little, then checks the clock and it was almost 11 in the morning, how deep I was in sleep. Then I suddenly remember Isaac.

“Wait! Why am I?”

“Where is Isaac?”

Two consecutive questions I utter when I get back to my senses, sleeping deeply makes me forget my reality, how stupid Anika. I scolded myself. I jumped out of the bed and grabs my phone dialing Jake’s number while running so fast going downstairs. My heartbeat is uncontrollably fast that I can’t even here the ringtone in the other line, all I heard is my heartbeat. I never thought I could run this fast, in just a minute I’m already in the first floor. I saw Jake and the other’s ,I immediately rushed to him.

“What is happening to you?” Jake asked confusingly.

“Where is Isaac? He was not in the room when I woke up. Before I slept he was there, on the bed, sleeping so peace - - - “ I didn’t continue because Jake’s expression was really annoying. He wants to laugh but he just can’t let it burst. He look at my left side sand so I did the same.

My kneel suddenly trembles and I almost burst into tears. I can’t even talk, no words can’t escape my mouth. I just stood there and stare at him, staring at his perfect eyes, smiling at me.

I walk slowly going towards him, at the bar stool while covering my mouth. No words escape my tongue that's why all my tears compete with each others falling from my eyes. Isaac was here standing like nothing happened to him. Giving me the smile I missed so much. It's like a sunshine that gives hope to everyone in the darkness. 

“How can you possibly be - - “ Finally a word came out.

“I just thought you need some rest because you exhausted yourself from taking care of me last night that you even forget to that we have bed for you to lay down.” He said while holding my hands, those big hands that perfectly fits mine.

Tears can’t help itself but escape from my eyes, finally hearing words from his mouth. It’s like a music to my ears.

I punch him hard on his shoulders, a sweet groan filled the room.

“What was that for?” He asked holding his shoulders from where I punched.

“That’s for leaving your room without your doctor’s permission.” I heard the guys laugh who was now surrounding us, I looked at Isaac and he also chuckles.

Next thing I know I was hugging him so tight like catching up for the night spent on bed lying helplessly.

“So what was this for?” He asked still not giving back my hug.

“For making me the luckiest woman in the world” I said, he chuckled before he hugged me so tight also. 

"Don't make my heart flatter." He said rubbing my hair. 

How I missed this skin ship. 

Suddenly, Jake clears his throat but Isaac didn't let go of me yet. 

"I'm sorry to interrupt this sweet scene story of yours, but if you'll excuse us, not everyone in this room is in love nor have a partner in life." He said, Isaac no let go of me and hugged me from my back. 

"So for your consideration please spare us from those sweet moments because we barely can't stand it." Every one laugh from what Jake said. 

"Then close your eyes jerk!" Isaac said that makes everyone laugh hard once more. 

"If you guys really can't stand it, then just for this day, I will give consideration. Please bring our lunch at  our room, I want to have some privacy with my woman and please do not disturb." Isaac said which makes me chuckle. 

We headed to our room holding each others hands. 

"Are you ready?" He asked that makes my heart skip a beat. 

"What?" I unknowingly utter. 

"My Anika, I'm asking you if you're ready, are you ready to know who you really are?" He asked that makes me stop from walking. 

I also asked myself, all my life the person whom I grew up with was not my real parents, until they just sold me to a man whom I never expect will love me with all his life. Now that I have the chance to know the truth, am I really ready? Do I really need to know this? If I already knew what will happen next to me? What are my plans and next steps? Do I still have relatives? Then I looked at the man beside me, holding my hands making me feel safe. Yes it's necessary to know who are my biological parents, that is the key for me to stop them from coming after me, for me to stop them from hurting the people around me, specially the one I loved. I need to know them for me to not suffer the same fate my late parents had, then I asked myself again? Should I revenge for my parents? Should I revenge for what they've done to Isaac? If yes, how?

I was snapped back to reality when Isaac tights his hold on me. 

"Don't over think love, everything will be okay. I will never leave your side. Just brace yourself and trust me." I felt the sincerity in his words. It makes me want to believe him, after all what doubt could I give him if he already put his life at stake just to make sure I am safe.
