The Golden Birthday Party

Chapter 45

-- Isaac --

After 6 hours, we are finally at Finland, the weather is freezing and fuzzy. Good thing Anika pack us comfy coats, good enough for us to feel warm, funny things is she even brought some heat packs for us. We heeded directly to the hotel where we will stay for 2 days. We arrived here night time so we slept once we get there. 

I know Anika prepared something for me, but I didn't bother to know all the details not to spoil the surprise and kill the joy she prepared. Knowing she prepared something for me makes my heart flutter, this is the first time someone has prepared something for me. So I made sure I also do the same, If ever her answer was positive, I'll be the luckiest man on earth and this will be my happiest birthday ever.

"She's fine and so busy, she prepared well today, she's so beautiful." Jake said on the other line that makes my brow raise. 

"Shut up! Are you checking on my Anika?" I heard him laugh. 

"Stop it dude, I also love Anika as my own sister as I loved you and Jenny." He said that makes me feel at ease. 

"She must have love you already for preparing all these things, she really is something, you both deserve each other bro." He added, I can imagine his smile while saying those to me. 

"Don't make me flutter that much." I said while grinning. 

"Well, we will know that later if she wears it already in her hands." I added nervously.

"C'mon! of course she will, just get your ass here. Don't be such a girly." He replied. 

"I'm coming, make sure everything is under control and no intruders." I said before I end the call. 

I grab the keys on the table and leave the room, headed directly to the parking area. I start the engine of my black Lamborghini aventador, and make my way out of the hotel. Relying on the GPS, I went to the venue where Blake had texted me, followed by the black Toyota cars behind me. I know they are sent by Jake nor Blake. 

Anika didn't know all of us are here, she knew Blake and Buck only since they're the one who got with us on the plane, but I made sure everyone will be here, everyone, even Anika's parents. I wanted everyone to be a witness for tomorrow's surprise to Anika. This is the first time I brought everyone and left Greece, even before our business was stable I made sure Jake will stay to supervise, but this event is so important to me that I wanted everyone to witness it, since I consider this pack as my own family. 

As soon as I arrived at the venue, I inhaled deeply before buttoning my coat. the place looks sophisticated, reflects Anika's personality, I bet this are all personally customized by her. I walk headed to the elevator followed by the guards, I signal them to make distance from me, as the door opened I turn right to where the VIP function hall is, I don't know if it's just the heater on the hotel but I think I'm sweating cold due to nervousness, I'm not used to this. 

As soon as I open the door, it was so dark and I only see a candle holding by someone, to my surprise a party popper suddenly pop ups to my both sides and the light was turn on and they all suddenly shouted a happy birthday. Anika was the one holding cake and she looks like a queen of gold in her dress, she looks like a hot model but then she shows too much of her skin and I can't let other people see those. 

"Happy birthday!" She said happily walking towards me. 

"Please blow your candle" She looks stunning and mesmerizing at the same time. 

"Make a wish." She added, I look like porch there. I was stan by her beauty. 

"Can I have three wishes?" I asked, Anika raised a brow but then she still nodded. 

"Thank you, then my first wish would be for you to change your clothes." I said smiling widely. 

"Wh- What?" She almost drop the cake on to the floor. 

"You're too hot and sexy for that dress and I can't guarantee to control myself if you stay longer wearing that clothes." I said which makes her roll her eyes. Blake suddenly laughs on her back, Anika throws a glare at him that make him stop form laughing. 

"But if you are the gift for this birthday party then I would love you wearing that one." Everyone around us laugh which makes her inhaled, seems like managing her anger. 

"I would prefer to change my clothes, first wish granted Mr. Isaac." She said sarcastically, I immediately blow the candle. 

"But, let's take pictures first please, before I wear baggy clothes again." She said pleading, I just nodded. Who can't resist her beauty? My God she looks so desirable. 

We took a lot of picture together and with the others before we headed to her suit. She enters the room half hearted on changing her clothes, she's stumping her feet like a kid while going to her closet looking for something to wear. 

"I've prepared for this clothes you know." She said while looking at a bunch of clothes she had. 

"I design this personally that matches you suit today." She added, but still I give no response. I know what she's trying to say. 

"All I thought you'll gonna love this, but here I am changing clothes in the middle of your party." She said, now she's  standing in front of me. 

"They said celebrating your golden birthday party means a lucky year ahead of you, do you even know what golden birthday is? It's the year you turn the same age as your birthday number. This year must be really special and I wore gold to add luck on your life." She said that makes me laugh at her, but I noticed she's about to get teary so I stood up and hug her. 

"The moment you came into my life, you already brought luck in me, you need not to wear anything gold nor diamonds to become special because even just a lossy shirt you're more than a gold to me." I said while swinging her shoulders gently. 

"Besides, I can't allow other people see you showing too much of that skin. You are beautiful whatever clothes you used, but of course I prefer conservative ones." I said cupping her face. Now the tears that's about to fall was gone and replaced by a smile. 

"Now go and change your clothes because the boys down there might be doing something awful." I said that makes her chuckle. 

After a minute, the door opens revealing Anika into the most comfortable outfit in a party. 

"You look beautiful" I commented, she was now wearing a baggy sweat suits and sneakers, all white. 

"I actually feel better but I would still prefer to use the other one if it wasn't for your first wish." She said while pouting. 

We returned to the function hall and as expected, Blake was with some other's girls again even the other boys. I instructed the manager to let them out for now. I don't want other girls here, besides they might be sent from enemies to spy on us

"By the way, what's with the three wishes?" Anika suddenly asked as we seated on our table. The host started the party already. 

"You'll know soon, for now let's enjoy this party you've prepared" I said which makes her excited. Then the host suddenly calls for Anika for her performance.

"You will perform?" I asked which makes her giggle. 

"Yes, why?" She said raising a brow.

"You better watch and learn." She said then get's up and went to the stage. 

I noticed there is a piano and a complete set of band instruments. Anika stand in the middle holding the microphone while Buck seated on the drums and Blake on the guitar together with two more men whom I think part of the Hotel crew because of it's uniform. 

"This song is for our golden birthday celebrant. I hope you enjoy this." She said before the music started. 

"I can't stand to fly, I'm not that naïve, I'm just out to find the better part of me. 

I'm more than a bird.. I'm more than a plane.. more than some pretty face beside a train.

It's not easy to be.. me.

I wish that I could cry, fall upon my knees. Find a way to life, about a home I'll never see. 

It may sound absurd, but don't be naïve, even heroes have the right to bleed. 

I may be disturbed, but won't you concede, even heroes have the right to dream, and it's not easy to be... me

Anika started singing and everyone started yelling, her voice was so good in the ears that seems have a magic, like everyone can be put under a spell once you hear her voice. 

"Up, up and away, away from me. We'll it's all right.

You can all sleep sound tonight. I'm not crazy or anything.

 I was just staring at her the whole time, I can't even hear the yelling of people around us. I was so mesmerize by how talented Anika is, a great doctor, a sporty, a great singer and now a designer of her own clothes. Can this woman really be mine? I suddenly asked myself. 

I was in deep thoughts that I didn't even realize their performance was over. She was smiling at me the whole time while panting. 

"One more, one more" The people around suddenly shouted. I smiled by how Anika captured their hearts with just a song. 

"What? Another one?" She said over the microphone. 

"But I prepared just one song for tonight." She said looking at me, I just shrug, letting her decide. The crowd chuckles with her honestly. 

"Fine, I'll sing one more song if your boss will do it with me." She said winking at me. I gave her a why me face look. 

I look at everyone seriously and no one dares to shout my name nor convince me. The crowd became silent, then Jake suddenly talk on the earpiece. 

"Don't be a kill joy and join Anika on the stage, unless you want to put her in shame." He said, I look at Anika and she was patiently waiting for my answer. 

Of course, I can't turn her down but I don't want to put myself into shame also by banging my head over the microphone on the stage while my man is watching me. Amidst the battle in my mind, I stand on my seat and inhaled deeply before I climbed the stairs. Oh God help me, I said to myself. 

"I know you don't want to show too much of yourself to your men so we will just use the piano instead of these." Anika said softly when I reached the stage. 

"Thank you." I just said still in awe of her performance a while ago. 

The crew put a two standee microphone on both our sides as we seat in-front of the piano. 

"Around of applause for the couples." The host said, 

Anika started pressing the piano keys gracefully, from that I know what she wanted to sing. 

"There's a calm surrender to the rush of the day, When the heat of the rolling wave can be turned away." - Anika

"An enchanted moment and it sees me through, It's enough for this restless warrior just to be with you" - Isaac

"And can you feel the love the tonight? It's where we are. It's enough for the wide-eyed wanderer that we've got this far. And can you feel the love tonight? How it's laid to rest? - Isaac & Anika

"It's enough to make kings and vagabond believe the best." - Isaac

"There's a time for everyone, if they only learn, that the twisting kaleidoscope moves us all in turn." - Anika

"There's a rhyme and reason to the wild outdoors, when the heart of the star crossed voyager beats in time with yours" - Isaac

"And can you feel the love the tonight? It's where we are. It's enough for the wide-eyed wanderer that we've got this far. And can you feel the love tonight? How it's laid to rest? - Isaac & Anika  

Our song ended with a big round of applause from the crowd, the moment we started singing everyone became quite and now everyone is yelling and clapping. I saw the biggest smile on Anika 's face when we finished the song, her smile was captivating. She moved to hug me which I return with a kissed on her head, 

I don't know if it's just the song but, I get deeply in-love with Anika every time she shows me every side of her. How amazing this woman is. I just really hope she will say yes,
