Chapter 12

--Anika--

It’s been two days since Isaac taught me how to properly use the bow and arrow. I was glad I finally learned archery. He even taught me how to use guns, at first I refused because I saved lives not take lives, even though it’s been a week I’m not operating bodies or checking patients, but after all that thoughts of course he won and there I also learned how to use guns. I know I’ll be back in that passion, hopefully Isaac permits. These past few days, he trains me in the morning on the afternoon after lunch he left with Jake for business purposes, he always reasons out. I always offered a hand since I also took business courses before but he always refuses and it gives me suspicion on what is his business all about, I remember he was ambushed by the American Mafia that almost led him into his death if I wasn’t there to save him. .

Today I was still on the bed, lying and cuddling my soft pillows. I haven’t even brush my teeth and change my sleep wear. I just feel so lazy, maybe hormonal change, my period is coming, because I felt pain in my breast, I felt this when I’m period is near. I even want to turn on the music but I was too lazy to get up, I’m just browsing from my i********:, of course I made a new account. I don’t want to have any connection to anyone from my past life.

“Anika?” I heard Isaac on the other side of the door knocking.

I moved on the edge of the bed and walks into the door to open and there revealing Isaac looking so fresh dressed to kill already while I’m still wearing my silk satin pair of shorts and sleeveless not even wearing a bra. I noticed him holding a tray of food so I open the door wide enough for him to enter.

“It’s 9 already and you’re still wearing that seducing clothes, unless you really waited for me to come here and see you with that” He said while putting the tray on the table

“Good morning too” I said in sarcasm and lay down again on the bed.

“Is there a problem” He said and sits on the bed.

“I just felt lazy today you know” I said while still browsing on my phone.

“Oh! Come on, laziness has no room for this house” He grab my phone throw it on the bed and pulls me that makes me stand on the bed.

“Let’s eat, I brought breakfast for us” He added

“Did you cook this?” I said looking at the sunny side up egg with bacon and sausages on the side with sliced tomato and cucumber.

“Yes, so you better eat that all” He said while eating his food same as mine.

“What if I can’t eat this all, you know I just felt like being with my bed the whole day” I said looking at my food, avoiding his eyes meeting mine.

“Eat that or I will eat you” He said in serious voice that make me gulp and started eating my food. Still not looking at him then I heard him chuckle.

“Don’t worry love, I love you that much that I can’t force you to do that if you still can’t” I now look at his face curve with a smile, my vision suddenly becomes blurred because of tears forming in my eyes.

“Hey! Why are you crying?” He said, pulling his chair near mine,

“I don’t even know, don’t ask me” I said, even me I can’t explain why.

“Stop that, you look like a kid, do we have a problem” He said scolding me, but his voice now in a concern tone.

“I don’t know maybe just hormonal change” He said, confusion appears on his face but I don’t mind I just started eating the food on my plate which actually tastes good.

After that unexplainable scene on the breakfast, Isaac started telling stories about him together with Jake when they were young that makes me laugh, he really knows how to make me laugh. After eating, Isaac put out something from his coat and shows it to me.

“Anika listen to me carefully, i know you are a smart person but I need you to really understand this one” He said in a serious tone looking straight into my eyes. There goes again that serious tone and dark gray eyes that melting mine.

“This is a nanotech alarm button, this is actually expensive but I don’t mind buying this because I bought this for you. This device is connected to my phone, when you press this button it will warn me that something bad is happening to you. I can also access your location so I can automatically detect where to go. Remember you and I only knows about this thing, you will not tell anyone about this, nobody from my men knows this.” He said then get up and get my phone from my bed where he threw a while ago

“I will stick it here in your phone, at the top left corner, so you better not leave your phone. Since this is so small it’s not visible, unless someone borrowed this and noticed it, so you should not let anyone touch your phone also” He said and handling me the phone.

“Why do you have to buy me like this? I leave here in your house, I don’t go out without your permission even though I always wanted to explore this country. Someone is always following me wherever I go. Don’t you trust me?” I ask looking so disappointed

“It’s not you whom I don’t trust, it’s the people around us, and I trust no one when it comes to you. I need you to understand this, I’m doing this for your own safety. I will not always be around but I will always make sure things are under my control, I just don’t want to lose you Anika” He said holding my face.

I see sincerity through his eyes that makes me nod at what he said. He never really fails to make me feel I am safe when I’m with him.

“Now I want you to take your bath, before I do it for you” He said changing the atmosphere, I immediately rush into my bathroom and took a long bath.

When I came back after my long bath, Isaac was already gone, the tray on the table was not there also, my bed was already fix. Did I take that long on the bathroom? I said to myself. Since I’m too lazy today, I just wore a white tank top and white shorts. I just put lotion and moisturizer on my face.

I headed down the first floor and look for Isaac, but he was nowhere to found gain, I go to the kitchen and find Albert.

“Albert, where is Isaac?” Standing beside the stool bar

“I haven’t seen him yet Ms. Anika” Albert replied.

I looked for him at his office on the third floor, on his room but he was not there, I was losing patience looking for him so I went back to my room and dialed in him on my phone, his phone was just ringing but he was not answering my call, I throw my phone on the bed due to irritation. I turned on the music to lighten my mood, I lay on my bed to rest and remove my irritation.

“Anika” I felt a hand on my shoulder. When I recognized the voice I get mad knowing that was Isaac.

“Where the hell did you go” I sand in irritation and stand on the bed and sit on my bean couch, looking at the window.

“I went out to attend a meeting with my business partner” He said sitting beside me. I didn’t response anymore and that makes him sigh deeply.

"I can't understand you already Anika, What is happening to you" He said his voice now seems to be getting mad. 

"I just stayed here for almost a week, and you can't understand me already? How much more if you'll going to marry me, everyday you have to understand me" I stand and put my hands on my waist. 

"I know I have, but I don't like that attitude" He said pointing at me that makes me fold my arms under my chest. 

“Come on let’s eat, time for lunch, Amelia cooked roasted beef steak for us” He said changing the conversation then grabs my hands and pull me going out when he stopped and look at me like his about to reap my clothes.

“You cannot wear that in front of my man, go and change your clothes” He said raising his brow, I just rolled my eyes and walks into the closet, I scan my clothes and choose a floral hanging off shoulders blouse paired with a cotton floral shorts. When I came out of the closet room, I saw satisfaction rest on Isaac’s face.

“That’s better” He said, then holds my hand as we walk down to the dining table where everyone is already seated. He pulls the chair for me so I can sit comfortably, he seated at the center of the long table. When I look at the table, my eyes widen seeing a lot of dishes cooked by Amelia and Albert.

“Wow” I said making everyone looks at me and smiles. Isaac started putting steak on my plate while I grab some spicy chicken legs. I also get some baked shrimps. I started filling my mouth with these tasty foods when I noticed them not touching their plates. I stop and when I looked at them, they’re watching me eating.

“What?” I said with my mouth full. Isaac just laughs and started eating.

They’re all discussing something while I’m busy eating my foods. I was almost done when Amelia talk.

“Ms. Anika, I baked a cookies and cream Chocó moist cake” She said while pouring water into my glass.

“OMG! I want to taste some” I said in excitement

“Are you mad at food” Jake ask, laughing at me

“Shut up” I said glaring at him that makes him laugh even more.

“Love you better watch how you eat before you become as big as the guy” His pointing at buck that is at the left side of Earl.

“Why, you just loved me because of how I look?”I said while Amelia putting cake on my new plate.

“You are impossible love” He said laughing then continues eating his steak.

After the fulfilling lunch we had, I’m here at the balcony, leaning on the pillar, I need to stand for at least fifteen minutes because I ate a lot, I mean a lot. After this hormonal change I need to exercise also to burn my fats.

“Hey! Lady” Isaac said walking near me.

“What” I said in irritation

“You know, you really act weird today. This morning you suddenly cry, a while ago, you ate a lot, I mean a lot, you are too irritated and lastly you slept a lot, it’s my first time being with a girl, so if you’re going through something just let me know if you need anything” Isaac said and then left me at the balcony.

After a while I decided to sit on the bench. I saw Jake coming, he sat beside me.

“Little girl” He said looking at me like a big brother.

“I have a little sister, she also eats the way you ate during lunch, and based on Isaac’s rants on me this morning I know what is happening. She also behaves that way when her girl’s thing is coming” Jake added his left arms resting on the head of the chair.

I look at him so shy, it’s my first team talking about these to a opposite gender. So it feels somehow embarrassing.

“Premenstrual mood swings I guess” I just said even though I know it is.

“My little girl should not be shy to her older brother, okay? Isaac was a younger brother I never had and since you will be his wife, that becomes you my little sister” He said that makes me comfortable with him.

“Thank you” Genuine smile curved my lips. Our conversation ends when Earl call Jake.

I’m still sitting there thinking of how to kill my time today. I remember I asked Casper to buy me a drawing and painting materials last week. So I went upstairs and open the cabinet where I put all the things he bought. I sit on the floor and started checking on what to use on my painting. I tried to think of what to paint, so I called Isaac on the phone, he immediately answers the call. I requested some of our pictures during our first date and I decided to paint the one he took when we were at the beach dancing. I started one o’clock in the afternoon painting, I even called Amelia to tell the guys not to disturbed me. I turned on the music first before getting my hands dirty. I put my phone on the side for my basis and started painting.

A knock in the door removes my concentration with what I’m doing, luckily I was just finishing my art.

“Come in” I said putting the last detail on my painting.

“What makes my Anika busy?” Isaac said that makes me hide my artwork.

“God! You can’t see this” I said hiding the painting behind my back.

“But why?” He said raising a brow

“You must be deserving first, before you see this” I said with confidence

“Why? Is that a nude painting of you” He said teasing me

“Pervert” I just said and walks into the closet room to hide the painting.

“Meet me at the movie room at 7:30” Isaac said when he saw me walking out of the closet.

I just nodded, I noticed Amelia is already inside my room fixing my painting materials.

“I called her for you to have time cleaning yourself, since it's already 6” Isaac said and then left the room.

“Amelia I will take my bath now, just leave the materials on the table I will clean it tomorrow” Amelia nodded in response.  

I walk towards the bathroom and started cleaning myself.
