It was already morning.
Angela had finished taking her bath. Standing in front of the mirror in her room, she carefully combed her long black hair until it was neat. She smiled faintly at her reflection before putting on a light shade of lipstick.
Today wasn't a faculty uniform day, so she wore a beautiful mufti that suited her perfectly. She adjusted her eyeglasses and checked herself once more in the mirror.
Just as she was about to leave, her eyes fell on a framed picture of her mother beside the bed.
She picked it up gently.
"Mom..." she whispered with a smile. "Please come home soon. I miss you so much."
She kissed the picture softly before placing it back where it belonged.
After taking one last look around her room, she walked downstairs.
Her father was already at the dining table eating breakfast.
Angela folded her arms and pouted.
"Dad, you're having breakfast and you didn't even call me?"
Her father looked up and scratched the back of his head.
"Oh... actually, I'm sorry. I completely forgot you were still upstairs."
Angela widened her eyes.
"You forgot I was home?"
Her father laughed awkwardly.
"I didn't mean it like that."
Angela shook her head playfully.
"Dad, you're unbelievable."
Instead of arguing further, she walked into the kitchen.
Since breakfast hadn't been prepared for her, she decided to make something herself.
She prepared a simple meal, poured herself a cup of tea, and sat quietly while eating.
After washing the plate and cleaning the kitchen, she returned to the living room with her school bag.
"Dad, I'm leaving for school now."
Her father stood up.
"Alright, sweetheart."
He smiled warmly.
"Take care of yourself. Have a wonderful day."
"I will."
"I love you."
Angela smiled.
"I love you too, Dad."
She waved before leaving the house.
Outside, she stopped a taxi.
"Good morning."
"Good morning," the driver replied.
"Please take me to the university."
The taxi pulled away.
At another part of the city...
Mark had already dressed up.
His mother was standing beside the car waiting for him.
She smiled proudly.
"My handsome boy."
Mark sighed.
"Mom..."
She straightened his shirt.
"Remember, if anyone troubles you today..."
She clenched her fist dramatically.
"Give them a big punch."
Mark chuckled.
"Okay, Mom. I've heard you."
She smiled.
"Good."
Mark looked at her.
"Are you taking me to school again?"
"Of course."
"Mom..."
"I'm twenty-eight."
"I know."
"You've been taking me to school every single day."
"I know."
"I'm not a child anymore."
His mother smiled lovingly.
"You may be twenty-eight years old..."
She pinched his cheek.
"...but you'll always be my little boy."
Mark sighed helplessly.
"I knew you would say that."
The two entered the car and drove toward the university.
Meanwhile...
Bella had spent almost an hour getting ready.
Since today was a mufti day, she carefully chose one of her best outfits.
She applied light makeup and sprayed her favorite perfume.
Looking at herself in the mirror, she smiled confidently.
"Perfect."
She grabbed her handbag before leaving for school.
A few minutes later...
Mark arrived at the university.
As always, his mother kissed him on the cheek before he got out of the car.
"Have a good day."
"I will."
She watched him walk through the school gate before driving away.
Not far from the entrance...
Bella spotted him immediately.
A bright smile appeared on her face.
She hurried over.
"Hi, babe."
Mark turned around.
For a few seconds he simply stared at her.
"You look beautiful today."
Bella smiled shyly.
"Really?"
"Very beautiful."
She laughed happily.
"I dressed like this just for you."
Mark nodded.
"It suits you."
Bella walked closer.
"So... do I look pretty?"
Mark smiled.
"You look more than pretty."
"You look amazing."
Bella blushed.
"Thank you."
She held his hand.
"If anyone keeps looking at you today..."
Mark interrupted confidently.
"I'll deal with them."
Bella laughed.
Michelle and Maria watched from nearby.
Michelle smiled.
"Bella is really lucky."
Maria nodded.
"Very lucky."
Mark looked at them.
"Jealous?"
The girls quickly shook their heads.
"No."
Mark smirked before walking away with Bella.
Instead of going directly to class, they stopped at the school garden.
The morning breeze was cool.
Bella looked at Mark.
"Babe..."
"Hmm?"
"I want us to have dinner together tonight."
Mark looked at her.
"Dinner?"
Bella nodded excitedly.
"Yes."
"I've already prepared everything."
"My dress is ready."
"Your clothes are ready too."
"The food."
"The drinks."
"The decorations."
"I even told my parents."
"They promised to give us privacy."
Mark smiled.
"You've planned everything already?"
Bella nodded proudly.
"Yes."
"I want tonight to be special."
Mark looked at her for a few seconds before smiling.
"Alright."
"I'll come."
Bella became excited.
"Really?"
"Yes."
She hugged him happily.
"I promise you'll never forget tonight."
At that same moment...
Angela's taxi stopped in front of the university gate.
She paid the driver before stepping out.
Immediately...
Many students turned to look at her.
Some whispered.
"She's here again."
"She's so beautiful."
"Even with glasses."
"I love her hairstyle."
Angela lowered her head slightly.
She took a deep breath.
"No..."
"I won't be nervous today."
She forced herself to smile.
"They're only looking."
"Just keep walking."
Slowly...
She walked toward her department.
Every step became easier than the last.
Soon...
She reached the classroom.
Jaden noticed her immediately.
"Hi."
Angela smiled politely.
"Hi."
"How are you today?"
"I'm fine."
"And you?"
"I'm good."
Angela nodded.
"That's good."
"I'll go and sit down."
"Alright."
"See you."
Angela smiled before walking to her seat.
Back at the garden...
Mark stood up.
"Let's go."
Bella nodded.
The two started walking toward their classroom.
On the way...
Mark noticed a boy and a girl standing near one of the buildings.
They were laughing together and almost about to kiss.
Mark frowned.
Without saying a word...
He walked toward them.
He opened the bottle of water he was holding.
Splash!
He poured the entire bottle over both of them.
The couple jumped in shock.
Mark glared at them.
"What are you doing?"
"Is this why you came to school?"
"Go home if you want to do nonsense."
The frightened students apologized immediately.
"I'm sorry."
"We're sorry."
Mark simply waved them away.
"Get lost."
Holding Bella's hand, he continued walking toward the classroom without looking back.
