As Jaden and Angela walked toward their classroom, students couldn't stop staring at Angela.
Both male and female students whispered among themselves.
"She's so beautiful."
"Who is she?"
"What is Jaden doing with her?"
"Even with her glasses, she's gorgeous."
"Look at her long hair."
"I really want to be her friend."
"I guess Bella is no longer the most beautiful girl on campus."
"Maybe she's here to compete with Bella."
Behind them, Bella walked with Maria, Stella, and Michelle.
Bella heard every single comment the students made.
The more she listened, the more jealous she became.
Stella quietly said, "Well... she's really beautiful, Bella. Maybe she's even prettier than you."
Bella suddenly stopped walking.
"What did you just say?"
Stella lowered her head.
Bella glared at her.
"How dare you say she's prettier than me? Do you know who I am?"
Stella became frightened.
"I'm sorry."
"Sorry for what?" Bella asked angrily.
"I'm just afraid that Mark might fall for her."
Bella slapped Stella across the face.
"Shut your mouth! Don't ever say that about my Mark again."
Maria and Michelle immediately kept quiet.
None of them wanted to make Bella angrier.
Meanwhile, Jaden and Angela arrived at their classroom.
The moment they entered, everyone stopped what they were doing.
All eyes turned toward Angela.
Jaden smiled.
"Everyone, we have a new classmate."
He looked at Angela.
"Go ahead and introduce yourself."
Angela became nervous.
"H... hi. My name is Angela."
The classroom remained silent.
Everyone continued staring at her.
Angela lowered her head.
"Why is everyone looking at me?" she thought.
"Is there something wrong with my uniform? Is my hair messy?"
She became even more nervous.
Jaden noticed her expression.
"Are you okay?"
Angela forced a small smile.
"I'm fine."
She looked around.
"Please... where can I sit?"
Jaden pointed toward the back of the classroom.
"The only empty seat is over there."
Angela looked disappointed.
"I don't really like sitting at the back."
Jaden looked around again.
"Actually... there's another empty seat in the front."
He pointed toward the seat directly in front of Bella's desk.
"You can sit there."
Angela smiled.
"Thank you so much."
"You're welcome."
Angela walked over, placed her bag on the desk, and sat down.
She quietly rested her hands on the desk while waiting for class to begin.
Outside the classroom, Bella looked around the campus.
She searched everywhere for Mark.
"What if he sees Angela?" she wondered.
"What if he likes her?"
She quickly took out her phone and called him.
The phone rang.
No answer.
She called again.
Still no answer.
She tried a third time.
Again, Mark didn't answer.
Bella frowned.
"Where the hell is Mark?"
She turned to Maria, Stella, and Michelle.
"Go and find him."
The three girls immediately left to search for him.
They checked the football field, the parking area, the cafeteria, and every place Mark usually visited.
After searching everywhere, they returned.
"We couldn't find him."
"I don't think he came to school today," Maria said.
Bella sighed.
"Fine."
Meanwhile, Mark was at home.
His mother walked into his room.
"My baby boy, aren't you going to school today?"
Mark sat quietly on his bed.
"I'm not in the mood."
"What happened?"
"I'm thinking about Jaden."
"The new student?"
"Yes."
"He keeps challenging me."
His mother sat beside him.
"So what are you going to do?"
"Nothing for now."
"Won't you tell your father?"
Mark shook his head.
"No."
"I'll deal with Jaden myself."
"But be careful."
"I will."
Just then, his phone rang.
Bella was calling again.
Mark looked at the screen before answering.
"What?"
Bella sounded worried.
"I haven't seen you today. Where are you?"
"I'm at home."
"Why didn't you come to school?"
"I didn't feel like coming."
"Will you come tomorrow?"
"We'll see."
Without another word, Mark ended the call.
Bella stared at her phone.
"He hung up on me..."
Maria looked at her.
"What happened?"
Bella shook her head.
"I don't know."
She slowly walked back into the classroom.
As she entered, she saw several students gathered around Angela.
Some of the girls were introducing themselves.
The boys were smiling and trying to start conversations.
Everyone wanted to welcome the new student.
Bella stopped.
The smile on her face disappeared.
She walked toward Angela.
"Excuse me."
Everyone became quiet.
Bella smiled politely.
"You must be the new student."
Angela smiled back.
"Yes."
"My name is Bella."
"I'm Angela."
Bella nodded.
"Welcome to our university."
Angela smiled.
"Thank you."
Although Bella continued smiling, her eyes remained fixed on Angela.
Deep inside, jealousy had already begun to grow.
