E M E L I A N A 07:08. A few hours later, we pull up to a medium-sized house in the middle of nowhere; surrounded by tall trees and a thick forest with a lot of shrubs and bushes which instantly tell me that we are deep in the woods. Luca stops the car and gets out, a few seconds later coming to my side and dragging me out of the car forcefully. "Get out and move." He shoves me forward with the pistol still in his hand as I suck in a startled breath when the gun touches my skin. "W-where are we?" I ask and he shoves me in response to move faster. "You'll know soon enough. Now, wait here." He replies and pushes me to onto the porch. "Don't try running, the nearest town is 2 hours away, and if you haven't noticed we are in the middle of nowhere." He threatens and walks over to the car. He goes over to the boot and starts pulling out something, with arms and legs... God, please don't tell me it's a dead body. "It's okay, we are here," Luca speaks and brings out the person who I can now tell is alive, my jaw dropping once I realise who it is. "Adriano?" I walk towards him in shock, frowning as I try to comprehend him being with me as well. Oh no, is he a hostage as well? At least he looks better and has bandages wrapped around his torso with his button-up shirt open. He looks up at me at the sound of my voice and stares at me with a bit of regret. "Hey, Emeliana." He lets out, his voice still a bit raspy as Luca stares at us, confused. "You two met already?" Luca asks with raised eyebrows and Adriano nods in reply. "She saved my life and got me to a doctor." He explains and I stare at Luca again. "What is he doing here?" I ask and walk over to Adriano to help him out a bit but Luca points the gun at me almost instantly and I put my hands up surrendering immediately, coming to a stop. "Luca let her be. The first part of the plan is done." Adriano speaks, causing me to furrow my eyebrows at his choice of words. First part? So he isn't a hostage... Luca lowers his arm and nods for me to come forward and help Adriano. I jog over to Adriano and wrap my arm around his waist, putting his arm over my shoulder for support. "It's okay, I got you," I reassure him and we walk over to porch together where I help him sit down. "Go inside the house, I will join you shortly," Luca tells us and heads back to the car. There is no point in arguing so we just have to do as he says and so we get up from the porch and walk over to open the front door. "There's no key-." I begin but shriek mid-sentence as I see a bunch of keys flying towards me, seconds from hitting me as I try to shield myself from the impact. Instead of it hitting me, I hear the rustling of the keys come to a stop making me open my eyes to see that Adriano had caught the key with his free hand. "Luca." Adriano hisses at him, irritated. "You should have let it hit her face." He lets out just as he takes out 2 duffel bags from the trunk. I scoff and shake my head at him before watching Adriano unlock the front door and push it open. I expected the house to be dusty and unorganized with a horrible stench, but that isn't the case. The house is neatly organized and has shiny dark wood floors with a light grey and white interior. "You mind helping me sit down and stop admiring the furniture?" Adriano asks quietly. "Oh, s-sorry." I mutter, a bit embarrassed and help him sit down on the nearest sofa, putting a pillow behind his head and one under his arm causing him to wince at my movements. "Adriano, how did you get out of the house, and how do you know Luca?" I ask him quietly while sitting on the sofa with him. "It was Luca and a few others, they came to get me from Dr. Shaw's office just before all the commotion started. It was part of the plan..." The way he spoke... as if he is being apologetic. "What plan? Who sent you, and why?" Adriano looks at me for a moment then away from my eyes. "I can't tell you everything now, all will be explained in time." He speaks slowly. "Okay, but could you at least tell me how you know him?" As I ask, Adriano looks away and stares at the floor instead, avoiding my question. "Adriano," I call for his attention, causing him to look back at me. "Luca is my brother." He finally replies and my eyebrows rise in shock. Brothers, they were brothers. Of course, Luca Genovese only had one other living sibling, Adriano Genovese. I still can't believe they're brothers... From what I've seen, they have such different personalities, the only resemblance they have being only in their physical appearances. "So you are Adriano Genovese?" I ask and his head tilts, looking at me with a surprised expression. "I'm guessing Luca boasted about it." "Yup." I roll my eyes and lean back against the sofa with him. Somehow I feel comfortable with Adriano, he almost makes me forget that I have been kidnapped. But I still want answers and maybe he can help me with that. "Adriano, did you know what was going to happen to my Family from the start?" I ask and face him while crossing my legs on the sofa. "Now brother, you don't want to tell her everything." Luca's voice sounds in the room making my heart clench in my chest out of fear. He walks into the room and sets down the duffle bags he had in his hands, coming over to where we are sitting, looking over to me with a sinister look. "She is not our guest, she's our pretty... little... hostage." .  .  .  .  . So apparently I'm their prisoner now. Luca had tied my arms and legs with some duct-tape and strapped me to a chair, leaving me alone in an empty room. I tried fighting back this time, but it was obviously a futile attempt. He simply threw over his shoulders as if I was a sack of potatoes when I tried to resist and carried me to the room I'm currently in, forcefully. I was hoping that Adriano would intervene but all my hope was crushed when Luca warned Adriano to stay away. The chair I am strapped to is an uncomfortable wooden chair that has one short leg, making the chair wobble and hit the floor every time I shift, creating an annoying knocking sound and to make matters worse, I am getting hungry, like really hungry. I'm pretty sure I haven't eaten anything in 18 hours. The last meal I had being yesterday, in the morning... So maybe even a full 24 hours. "Let me out of here!" I yell out loud. I don't know why; it's not like they will listen to me. Even though, I constantly continue to yell and make my chair knock the floor to make a loud noise. But I'm proven wrong when I hear the door begin to unlock, causing me to stop all my commotion immediately and listen. I'm starting to feel as if my hope for something will eventually be destroyed, leaving me disappointed. So I wasn't expecting to see Adriano, my 'knight in shining armor' coming to rescue me. As I had guessed it was Luca. He emerges from behind the door with a different set of clothes and surprisingly, a chair. Oh great, now he's going to torture me. I think, my sarcasm overshadowing my fear. He shuts the door behind him and locks it, my heart pounding faster and faster as a million questions cross my mind. He sets the chair in front of me and sits down. He seems deep in thought as he holds his hands together and stares at the floor. I'm so anxious, what the hell is he even thinking about? Possible ways of torturing me or... worse. I shift uncomfortably in my chair as he exhales and then rests his hands on his laps, his hazel eyes finally meet my blue ones as he locks me in an intense gaze. "Hey." He smirks at me as I stare at him in complete and utter shock. Did he just 'hey' me? "You can't be serious." I scoff and stare back at him. He obviously did that on purpose; making me feel nervous for no reason. The stupid smirk still on his handsome face had not changed as he continues to stare at me with amusement and amazement. It's hard not to stare at him and not be astonished by his perfect face, his bone structure, chiseled jawline, and cheekbones... "Stop staring at me like that." I hiss and he simply continues to stare at me. I know, I'm being a hypocrite. "It's hard not to." He says, tilting his head slightly, making me blush slightly. "Lui è un tale idiota è." (He's such an idiot.) I whisper under my breath. Mistake. Luca gets up and hovers over me, resting a hand on one of the armrests as his other one grabs onto my chin, making me look up at him, holding my face close to his, so close I could feel his warm breath fan my lips. Is he about kiss me...? Ha. Haha. No. His head moves towards my ear, making me shudder as I felt his lips lightly brush up against my ear lobe. "Spero tu non credo che non capisco italiano, perché indovinate un po? Faccio." (Do not think I do not understand Italian because guess what? I do.) He whispers in a low hoarse voice. I gulp inaudibly as a cold shiver runs down my entire body. His voice is so smooth- Get your self together! I snap at myself quickly. I can't be feeling like this. My dumb body should control itself. I thought I would be able to speak freely in Italian. But how stupid could I be though? Of course, he speaks perfect Italian, he's a bloody Genovese. He moves away from me, seeming satisfied with my reaction and goes back to his seat. I don't even bother responding to his remark, what can I even say. "Why?" Is what escapes my lips. "Why what?" He asks, resting his elbows on his knees as he leans forward and stares at me, attentive. "- did you take me. Give me a serious answer this time." I ask monotonously. "It's a long story." He says and exhales through his nose. "Tell me." "You really are persistent aren't you." He speaks, leaning forward more and meeting my eyes before his eyes glance at my lips then back to my eyes. "Are you hungry?" He asks out of nowhere and I stare at him with my eyebrows raised. "No." I lie to him. "You don't have to lie to me you know." He tells me, making me frown slightly. "Maybe if you stay good, I'll get you breakfast. Do like pancakes?" He asks me with a small smile, but I'm not buying into his kindness. There must be some kind of ulterior motive to his actions. I don't understand why he's being so nice or is it just a psychopath thing? Not that I'm complaining, I don't want him to be mean to me, it's just a peculiar way for a kidnapper to act towards his hostage. Hostage. His hostage. I can't believe I just said that. He slowly gets up from his seat, leaving the chair behind as he walks towards the door. But before he can open it, he turns back around to face me, his face cold, expressionless, deadly. And... there it is. Cue the racing heartbeat. He makes his way over to me, every step he takes causing my heart to thump harshly in my chest. He reaches me and crouches down to my eye level, grabbing my chin again with his fingers and staring at my lips again then into my eyes, his tongue running over his lower lip before he bites it softly, making me let out the breath I had been holding. "Don't even think about making another noise, or else I'll come back and cut your throat." He speaks slowly and bluntly. Just like that the attraction I feel towards him was replaced by fear, all the blood in my body rushing to my head, making me dizzy. Shit. Please don't tell me I'm dealing with a multi-personality psychopath. I gulp slightly, not moving a muscle as he still holds onto my chin, trying as much as possible not to shake in fear. He traces his thumb down my jaw in a painfully slow manner before he lets go of my face and turns to the door, leaving me alone again. I hear the door click from the other side, signifying that he locked it. Once he is gone I let out a deep sigh and look around me. Even though Luca said that we are in the middle of nowhere, I have to figure out a way to escape and soon...
