“Mom…?” Emeliana calls out as she walks into her Mother’s room to find her speaking quietly to Vicente and Leo, her older brothers. Elena is startled by her daughter’s voice before she looks at Emeliana and forces a smile, walking over to her 11-year-old daughter.
“Emeliana, what’s wrong?” Her mother speaks as she looks down at her Emeliana carefully.
“I… came to ask if we’re still going roller-skating later…” Emeliana mumbles as she glances at both her older brothers to find them staring back at Emeliana with wary frowns, Vicente having a more angered look than his brother, Leo.
“Oh, something’s come up and I’ll have to leave to be somewhere with your brothers,” Elena explains and Emeliana frowns as she’d be disappointed by the news.
