Kieran leaned away and smiled at his friend, Kira simply cleared her throat
"What am I missing?" Mason walked fully into the room.
"I'm just reminding her if she dared to leave you again...
"You weren't threatening the mother of my unborn child, were you, Kieran?" Mason feigned being angry with an arched brow.
"I wouldn't dare", he chuckled and left the couple to themselves.
The silence grew louder than their breathing,
"Lana..."
"Is Kieran sleeping over?" She quickly chirped in. Mason stared at her, a wry smile tugging at his lips. "What?" She asked.
He shrugged and walked to the door, "you just never called him by his name before", he smiled and Kira swallowed. "I should see him off", Mason winked before leaving her room.
She staggered a step backward, a sigh escaping her throat.
She exhaled loudly. "That was close"
Her phone beeped on the dresser table, she rushed across to grab it. It was a message. A message that comes only once in a year and sometimes three years. Her brows furrowed as she tapped the message opened.
[HEY! SOMETHING FOR YOU... BE GOOD... MOM] - it was none other than her mom. A woman who only remembered she had a daughter whenever she pleases
Kira's veins popped as she read and re-read again.
Every year, she'd anticipated that message. She didn't care how void of love the words sounded, she was always happy to see it. She didn't care about the little change her mom sent, but today was different, she felt like smashing the phone so badly. She shouldn't have had her. She should have aborted her if she wasn't willing to give her a life
But she'd be different.
Different from the woman who kept her like this.
Her child would be glad to have her as a mom!
It beeped yet again in her hand and she looked at it.
[Where the f**k are you hiding?!!! After the show you just put up?!] - this time it was from Harry.
Kira bit her lips hard.
Her mind carving out a beautiful image of her stabbing him to death.
"Just not today", she shut her eyes and drew a long breathe. Once she opened it, she quickly blocked his number. Se'd never want to bothered by even the simplest text from him.
She tossed the phone on the table and stepped out.
It was around 6:32pm already, the evening clouds had gathered beautifully as the lightings in the house did a beautiful job. She wouldn't mind working here as a maid for the rest of her life, locked in this beautiful castle and left to serve a beautiful master
"I see you're done showering. Do you need something?", Lydia's voice broke her sight seeings.
Kira smiled and walked up to meet the older woman. She bit her lips and yet decided to ask. "Lydia?"
"Yes dear"
"Hmm...uhmm..if I were to say that...uhmm..say by chance I had an accident and lost my memory....."
"You did? When?!!! Does Mason know about it???", Lydia cut her off and Kira smiled.
It was nice to have anyone care about you... and sincerely at that. She shook her head, "I didn't. Hear me out first".
"I... We... We want to start afresh", she voiced and the older woman arched a brow.
"You know. To get to know each other again... From the beginning", she tried to read Lydia's expression but continued nonetheless when she couldn't. "I want to learn everything again. From the top. Everything he likes and dislikes. How to make his favourite dishes. All about him and my routine in this house. Every single detail. We...we decided to do that. To know each other like it's our first time." She paused agan but Lydia kept staring at her, her expression remaining bland.
She continued, "we uhmmm.. we could ... I could use your help. Just ...just think of me as a new maid. Your very own assistant".
"You are my assistant", Lydia scoffed..
"Great. You understand already". Kira chuckled nervously.
Lydia simply stared at the young lady, what she said made no sense to her. Youngsters complicated things these days. In her prime, love wasn't this hard or complicated, but Mason was a son to her. Anything to make sure he remained with a smile, she'd gladly give anything to get that for him. For years, she watched a bubbly and carefree soul like Mason's turn cold and dead. For years, he's struggled for everything. He's harboured pain in his little soul. It was time to keep him happy at all cost.
She sighed, "you're weird Lana, but anything to keep the young Master happy. Fine!" Lydia smiled and Kira hugged her. "Get off me young lady", Lydia chuckled.
"Am I missing something?" Mason walked in on them, he leaned by the door.
Kira's breathe hitched..
She ran her eyes over his figure. His broad shoulders alone doing things to her. The way his small almond-shaped eyes seemed to disappear everytime he smiled or laughed was beautiful. She unconsciously bit her lips as he winked.
"Lydia...." Mason walked into the kitchen.
"Do you need something?" Lydia asked.
He simply shook his head with a smile. "I want to make dinner for my princess tonight".
Lydia blushed in Kira's stead, she didn't bother opposing him, she simply smiled and left the kitchen.
Kira grew hot with just the two of them left. "You shouldn't ..
"If you're gonna stop me from everything I want to do, how then are we going to create the new memories?" He walked up to her.
"I should be the one making your meals"...
"You're my perfect meal", he pulled her in for the perfect kiss to which her body reciprocated before she could process a thing.
He broke it off and locked her gaze, "Lana", he stroke her hair and Kira's stomach turned sour at the name but she managed a smile. "I want you and no one else", he paused to kiss her palm and locked her gaze yet again, "you became the reason I woke up with a smile everyday", Mason leaned in that their nose touched, "don't let me loose that smile", he whispered.
She was yet to respond, when he lifted her and placed her on the kitchen counter, "watch me", he winked and grabbed the apron.
Mason didn't need to state it.
What else could be more eye-catching than a god in an apron????
Kira bit her lips.
No one had ever cooked for her. All she did was be a maid to Harry. She cooked, cleaned and did his laundry. In the next two minutes, he was done. He winked at her and she blushed. "I'm scared you might want me cooking for you everyday once you taste this".
"You can't if I ask for that?" Kira blurted out before she could stop herself.
Mason walked up to her and captured her lips in a kiss, Kira couldn't resist kissing him back. His hand caressed her thighs but once it went a few inches deeper.... "Mason", she gasped in a moan.
He grinned as he broke away, "if I can hear that every night, then I would", he winked and she chuckled aloud.
"I missed your smile", he voiced sincerely, "your voice too. Every single detail", he helped her down.
"We're eating in your room or mine?", He asked as he turned to carry the tray.
"Let me.." Kira tried taking it from him but he refused. "Don't be stubborn and just walk", he said. She pursed her lips and walked as he requested.
"You look really foxy in that brown curly hair of yours, when did you dye it?", He asked and she nearly fell as she stumbled on nothing.
"Sorry", she apologized.
"You're the one who nearly fell. Are you okay?" He asked as they got to her room door.
Kira nodded as she opened the door and they both went it. Thankfully, he'd forgotten he asked a question.
He placed the tray on the bed and had her sit opposite him. The aroma filled her nostrils already. Her mouth watered at the Chicken and creamy pasta that stared at her. Her stomach grumbled.
Mason chuckled, "is that you or our child?" He asked and she nearly lost her appetite.
Kira stared up at him and mustered a smile.
She felt sorry for him. She felt evil for playing him like this. But life had played her enough too. For once, she wanted to be greedy. She prayed he wouldn't hate her so much.
"Ahh", he raised a fork-full to her mouth , which she gladly opened and the taste was heavenly. Her stomach grumbled even more. She gobbled it down that he couldn't help but smile watching her eat.
Kira had no shame left, so she didn't care at all. As she placed the fork on the empty plate, she smiled shyly.
"That was embarrassing to watch, right?"
He shook his head, "I'm pained I didn't make much more".
"Thank you for dinner Mason", Kira picked the tray and stood, "allow me to this time. Please", she left with the tray before he could stop her.
In the kitchen, she quickly washed off the dish and placed it in the rack. She cleaned her hands and leaned back on the sink.
She loathed herself for being so happy right now, but why?
Why should her conscience stop her from being happy?! Why can't it just turn a blind eye and shut the hell up?! Why must she feel bad at even the slightest smile she gives off? Why can't she blush at his words? What's so wrong in talking freely with him? What's so wrong in having butterflies just at his presence?!!
"I deserve to be happy too", she muttered to herself again, "and I am going to be happy!"
She exhaled and stood to her full height but a hand encircled her waist, she could feel his chest against her back. "Do just that", Mason whispered from behind.
"Be happy . Be happy with me", he kissed her neck and kissed it again and again and again.
Kira turned on her feet immediately and kissed him first this time. Mason wasted no time in lifting her up, she wrapped her tiny legs around his waist as the kiss deepened.
When he broke it off, she saw the desire in his eyes as he voiced, "I love you".
Kira didn't reply, she simply delved in for another kiss as he made his way to her room which was the closest. He placed her gently on the bed and the desire in his eyes grew darker as he slowly took off his polo shirt.
Kira's throat went dry, her heart skipped a beat as his pendant glowed again, he leaned in for the kiss again, slowly raising her to sit on his laps as his hands found her zipper.
He unzipped her gown and a gasp escaped her throat as she broke off the kiss to stare at him. Her conscience screaming so loud at her to stop this madness, but once he leaned forward to capture her lips, her hands found it's way into his hair and she shut her mind away.
"I want to be happy too"....
