She gazed over to Nicholas, he stared at his wristwatch impatient, his jaw ticking. He looked like he hates waiting. She stared back at Kelvin she wanted to make a fuss about this but she wouldn't. She was sure it would not yield any result. She smiled briefly at Kelvin and handed him the keys. She trekked to Nicholas, who sighted her and immediately got into the driver's seat and started his car ignition. She opened the passenger door and got in. He glances over at her as she struggled to get settled in the plush leather seat. "Get over to the front" he ordered. "Why? And quit being bossy with me" "Bossy?" he snorted, mocking her. This man was testing her patience but she ignored him. "I am not your driver okay? Get over." He ordered once more. "It's your car why should you feel... never mind," She said frustrated and closed the door with a thud, He winced at the sound. She smeared her face in the glass window shutting him out. He ignited the car and rode away. Gabriela saw Kelvin following suit, he drove her car. in the rear mirror, she sighted her parents, her mom leaned into her head as they stared at the retreating cars, a sullen look on their face, she felt like crying but she wouldn't, she tore her face from them as he drove further away into the road. Almost an hour into the journey, Gabriela fell asleep, her head laid in the chair's headrest. Nicholas stared at her and told himself he wouldn't bother about her neck awful position. It was bent the way normal necks wouldn't. Just ignore her. He steeled himself, cautioning himself. He stared at her again, it would hurt if she wakes up. He gave in using his left hand to steer he used the other to adjust her neck. Her eyes fluttered open at his touch. He froze, scared of her reaction but she went back to sleep. Phew. What would she insinuate if she caught him keeping her head in the right position? He doesn't know what pushed him into doing that, but he promised himself this would be the last. He drove into his gate which opened automatically. He looked at his rear mirror, Kelvin followed behind, he drove in his drive path carelessly, it was very dark and the main light provided little illumination. He got up glancing at Gabriela who still slept letting out a soft snore. He would not deny his new wife looked adorable, but that doesn't amount to anything to him, she was a reminder of his already ruined fun single life, he would be willing to go along with what he threatened his father, but he doesn't want her father coming after him and cancelling the initial agreement, his whole inheritance lost. He turned off his ignition and released the seat belt off his waist. Using his free hand he tapped her shoulder in a bid to wake her up, she seemed startled but frowned at his sight. " Get down" he ordered, opening his car door. "Why? You want to throw me off the bridge or something" she narrowed her eyes into a slit. It surprised him how she recovered from sleep so quickly. "That sound like a good idea to me but not the best way to get rid of you, you are at my house." She snorted her nose and mumbled something incoherent. She tried to get out of the seat belt, fumbling with it, she certainly knows how to get out of the seat belt but his fancy car has a different mechanism. She was getting frustrated, "Let me" he offered. "No thank you I can do it perfectly just give me a... " she stopped talking capable of producing any sound as his hand fondled the belt with just a click... It was done. She huffed a breath and tried to steady her heartbeat, he was so close to her his manly cologne overpowering her senses. This is the first time a man would be this close to her, which explains the race her heart was doing against her chest. He awkwardly slid off the car, she followed suit, the cold air hit her as she got out. The light of the lamp towering over them provided little illumination, she followed him over to the porch and heard a footstep behind her, she turned to the sound. It was Kelvin. Nicholas stood to the side as he typed in some code. She stood idly trying to make out what he typed. He pressed a button the door slid open, A beautiful lady stood her hair let loose in waves. She wore a simple loose black dress. She smiled broadly at them. "Welcome Mr Nicholas" she smiled at Nicholas grunted something back to her. He stepped into the house leaving Gabriela behind. "Hi I am Rachel," she said noticing Gabriela, a quizzical expression stuck to her face. "Uh, I am Gabriela." She replied trying to get the awkwardness out of her voice. "Please do come in it's quite cold" she offered, Gabriela entered relieved by her warmth. Nicholas appeared to be absent as she entered the house. "Thanks," she appreciated. "No problem, I am the housekeeper around here, you are prettier than I thought. Sir told us he is going to bring a lady home" she chatted excitedly. "Weird thing though, he said I should prepare the spare room for you, are you guys like... " "Rachel!" Nicholas's voice thundered startling both her and Rachel. "Mind your business, or you would be fired." She looked terrified of his statement, she felt sorry for her. Nicholas was too harsh on her there would be a better way to pass that across without a threat. "I am sorry sir. I am sorry Ms Gabriela," She apologized. "Mrs" Nicholas added. She heard the sarcasm in his voice and watched as he walked up the stairs she didn't notice earlier. "Yes, Mrs Gabriela," Rachel noted nervously. "It's okay Rachel, I don't mind don't apologize. You did nothing wrong." She smiled tiredly. "Do you need anything, coffee, dinner, I prepared dinner" She waved her hand in negative. "No please, just want to rest, Please lead me to my room." Her shift would begin in two hours, a little rest and bath would leave her refreshed. "Okay follow me. I would prepare a bath for you. If you like" "No, I am fine would use the shower," she said bath is a long affair. Her abdomen tightened for a moment as she climbed the stairs following Rachel. They turned left as she passed a couple of doors and finally stopped. "This is your room, Ma'am Gabby, if you need me just dial a button on your wall." "Okay thanks, Rachel," she said, her abdomen tightened is there a toilet I can use I am pressed." "You have one in your room, let me just open it up." She patted her dress pocket for a key. "Can't wait please where is the nearest here?" "Uh, there's one down at the end of the passage" she couldn't complete her statement. Gabriela skidded off, running she closed the door with a thud. Rachel stared at her baffled, she opened her room door with the key dangling off the lock for her to recognize her door with, after that she left. Gabriela eased herself and rinsed her hands, after that she got out. Where is her room? Where is Rachel? She saw the room corridor Rachel stood at earlier and went to it, the door looked similar but she was sure this was the one. Turning the knob open, she got in and clicked the light switch lightening up the room. She opened her eyes in awe, the room was extremely big with different artwork clung on the wall, she stared at a bit confused. It looked like this room was already occupied, but why would Rachel show her a room that wasn't hers. She brushed off the thought with a wave and went in more, she noticed the king-size bed sitting in the middle of the room. A plush carpet stood before it. You ever had this room before she had a very rich taste, a carpet in a room? She laid on it, closing her eyes then fluttered them open again. She saw a miniature chandelier in the middle of the ceiling. The floor before the bed was covered in lush carpet. The room was painted cream with some mural drawings to add to it artistic nature of the room. Looking around more she saw a jug filled with water and a discarded male shoes.
