The first thing Nicholas didn't expect in his office as he paused in front of the open office door was a woman dressed in jeans and a white sweater of some kind, loitered on his office leather couch.
She seemed not to notice his presence, as he closed the door gently behind him.
As he walked in more, he noticed a plastic package seating in his Garbage Can meant for only office waste, this woman had his anger boiling, the nerve of she.
How dare she?
Who is she? He pondered.
Initially, he thought she was Elena but Elena won't dress so conservative and good girly nature and sit so unladylike on his couch, she laid on it, her head resting on the arm.
He noticed a headphone in her ears, that's why she didn't hear him come in, walking closer he observed she looked familiar she had lush curly hair, wild eyes, and her lips?
Her lips were what caught his attention, full, sensual and pouting set of lips he could recognize anywhere.
Mr Vincent's daughter?
What is she doing here?
He stood behind her and noticed she was watching a video, which left her with a smile on her face.
The sight of her in his office was quite unsettling, it made him feel all weird.
Her smile looked so genuine and beautiful, it looked strange to him. He was surrounded by people who smile every day after a business deal they smile, when attending to customers they smile, but it is never from the heart, it was just part of the business socialising skill.
But hers, it was different, it had a good feel effect to it, it left him wanting to see her smile again.
For the first time, he noticed how beautiful one can be when you look closer or see their moments with things that made them happy.
She dropped a canned soda on the floor, she gasped loudly trying to stop it from spilling. she did, but in the process, she noticed a man's shoe and raised her gaze until she met his sizzling brown own ready to toast her alive.
She looked startled but not intimidated, a smile appeared on her lips.
Something about that smile made him weak, he hated it it was the most beautiful smile he has ever seen, he tried not to stare too much at her.
She was the woman who intruded on his privacy, yes he needs to warn her thoroughly he wasn't a man to mess with. A signed marriage contract with him doesn't give her the right to barge into his office anytime she pleases.
It was surprising to see her here, he thought she wasn't eager about the marriage but here she is crawling back for some Nicholas attention. He knew his good looks never failed him, and no woman that walked his face on earth wouldn't be able to resist him. His once uninterested to be wife was the one breaking into office just to see him.
And Gina allowed her, that girl is due for a sack, she was so incompetent.
He watched demeaning as she stood up, smoothing her dress, he tried not to look at her womanly curves encased by her loose jeans, for one he found out today you don't have to dress naked to look sexy.
She had the shape of a model, but she was thicker and her hips were a bit wider, her sweater revealed the two mounds on her chest. They looked small compared to Elena's who readily spill out of her self made cleavages, too bad they were going to be a contacted relationship, having this body for a whole year who leave him in ecstasy.
"Finally, I have been waiting, bored to death. I tried not to be too touchy though," she spoke pulling him from his dirty reverie.
She was chatty, he didn't expect such a conserved woman to be that chatty, she noticed how solemn and quiet he looked, so she kept her voice back.
"Sorry for barging into your office, and being chatty. It is obvious you don't like people that talk too much, I would go straight to the point.."
She is observant as well, it only took one look for her to know what was in his mind. It was scaringly true how accurate she was.
He did recall her saying she was a doctor and doctors are extremely smart, maybe some of her mind-reading abilities came to relating with people daily.
"What are you doing in my office?" He asked in a brusque manner.
Just one look at her and she was visibly annoyed by his tone or the way he spoke to her but was quick to swallow it in.
"I am here to talk to you about our
coming marriage."
Eager, are we? He smirked inwardly.
Women, they never change, he took some stride to his desk and sat behind it, relaxing in his chair.
"Ms Gabriela, I am not in charge of the wedding preparations, if you do need anything speak to my secretary first then she would come to me, you should follow the right procedures in an establishment."
"It is surprising, you would come to me for money or such petty things."
She ignored his statement and came to his desk drawing a chair opposite him and sitting in it.
"It seems like you love making assumptions," she said, how she said it was overall unacceptable on his part. She should know who she is talking to.
And who permitted her to sit?
"Who told you to sit?" He asked and earned a brow raise from her she dropped her purse on his desk pushing his files away towards the edge.
"And who told you I need your permission to sit?"She questioned him.
He mistook this girl behaviour, she was saucy and sharp-tongued, noticed a headache coming at the sides of his temples.
"What are you here for?" He would focus on getting to know what she wants so he can get her out of here, her whole presence was irritating.
"I would assume I am not the only one that hates this forced marriage. I don't want to get married to you, I feel suffocated by the whole issue."
Opposite of what he thought, surprising, he thought.
I don't want to get married to you.
That strings of words alone damaged his ego, his pride.
He could say all the girls in this city would tear at the opportunity to be with him and a woman named Gabriela us throwing such opportunity to the ground.
He wanted to get married to her for all the wrong reasons, steal her wealth, get his inheritance.
She was his stepping stone to greater success, so he needs her before he dumps her as she did just now.
"I disagree, I do want to get married to you." He gave her a single short reply that left her stunned for a second.
"Erm.." she cleared her throat collecting herself from the mild shock he threw her in, it was clear she wasn't expecting that to be his response.
"I thought you did, I thought we were on the same page."
"I guess I am not the only one who makes assumptions."
"Why do you want to get married to me? I hate the word marriage, I would hate to be married to you or anyone else, it is not your typical love marriage, I don't know you. why then do you want to get married to me?"
"Simple, the marriage is on contract, and my company is involved. If I leave this marriage I would be leaving my company, and what you feel is not my problem."
"If you want your typical love marriage don't expect it from me, this is the plain business."
"I don't want to get married to you."
"You will, you signed, concurring to the agreement." he said, pronouncing it more in her.
"You... Are selfish, You can't get married to you against my will."
"The marriage is next week, get ready because I will, there is nothing you can do about it, accept your fate." He said, he would not deny a part of him want to marry this girl and make her fall for his charms. She wanted her to be obsessed with his very presence.
He wanted to make her fall in love with him before breaking her into numerous pieces.
He wanted revenge for his bruised ego.
His present girlfriend would love to be in her position, married to the famous Illinois bachelor, Elena Damien.
Ah, Elena.
What do Elena like better, his face or his money?
Maybe both.
Gabriela stuck a challenge with him and he is ready to take her on. Watching her suffer after getting married to him would be a relish.
"I won't, and if I do I would have nothing to do with you."
"See Gabriela, it is business to me, I agree to that if that is your only conditions. Having nothing to do with you too sounds good to me."
She was solemn for a second, lost in her numerous thoughts.
"In another year the deal is off and you can go back to your normal you, single loving being."
"I can't believe I am getting married." she mumbled, realisation hitting her hard than her failure to convince him against the marriage.
