“I think I have fallen in love with a woman of Mohill.” Alloy responded slightly.
Basha and Greg raised a brow, wondering who it could be.
“And who could that be, in this short time you’ve been there, who is the privileged woman, my dear friend?” Greg asked calmly.
“She is not just a woman, but a princess and a sister to the king of Mohill, her name is Melie.” He said aloud with joy, to everyone’s hearing. Basha and Greg, laughed out loud in surprise.
“In the whole of Aknok, you couldn’t get a woman to call your love, but Melie?” Basha asked.
“Yes, out of all the women in Aknok, no one stole my heart, but she did, so she deserves accolades.” He replied softly.
“Does she know about your love for her?” Greg asked, concerned.
“Yes, and I can’t wait to make her my wife.” Alloy said with confidence in his voice.
“You my friend, is one hard nut to crack.” Greg said as he patted Alloys shoulders with his hands, he stood up from his seats with a glass cup in his hand and a spoon, he made a sound with the glass cup as he hits the spoon on it as he said . “This calls for celebration my lovely brothers.”
They both laughed as they ate their food and drank their wine, Basha sat quietly on his seat, as anger fumes inside of him, he stood up, and left the dinning hall, leaving Greg and Alloy to celebrate alone.
The next early morning, Basha rode on his horse, to the land of Mohill, to meet with king Bronza, on his arrival at Mohill, Bronza was surprised to see him again, knowing they left his kingdom yesterday, “what brought him here, and without his two favorite armies?” Bronza thought to himself.
Bronza welcomed him and ushered him into his chambers, “What brought you here, my dear friend?” Bronza asked calmly, as he gestured for Basha to sit.
“I apologize to have visited without an invitation, but a news came to me yesterday, that brought me so much discomfort, my dear friend.” Basha spoke sadly.
“And what could that be?” Bronza asked, concerned.
“We have known each other, and have fought for each other for years, so I believe you would definitely fight for me concerning this.” Basha replied.
“Speak! Basha, you are getting me worried.” Bronza commanded.
“Alloy and Melie, are in love with each other, and….” Basha was cut short with his words as Bronza laughed out loud.
“I don’t believe you rode all the way to Mohill, just to seek permission of your best friend Alloy and my sister to be together, well, I am not surprised, Melie has been talking about him since we came back, so I gave them my blessings, whatever makes my sister happy.” Bronza said, as he tapped on Basha’s shoulder.
“No! I refuse it to happen, he can’t take what I so desire for long.” Basha said as he stood up angrily.
“And what is he taking from you, Melie?” Bronza asked in surprise.
“Yes, Melie! Bronza you know I have always desired to marry your sister, but your answers were no.” Basha fumed.
“My sister doesn’t want you, and I can’t force her to be with someone she doesn’t love, so let them be.” Bronza replied.
“I would rather die, than to watch a mere army take away what I have fought hard for so long for.”
Bronza spat on the floor in irritation of Basha’s words, he walked closer to Basha, as he stood in his front, and watched him intently, from head to toe, he gently shook his head in anger as he spoke.
“You are so like your brother Zhara, his blood runs in your vein, you have everything in the world, name it, your mistresses, armies, wealth and freedom, yet, just one thing that you couldn’t have, you had to betray your best friend for it, how greedy you are Basha.”
“I trusted you and called you my brother, Bronza, just one favor I asked of you, you rejected me, how wicked could you be.” He said in frustration.
“I rebuke you and curse the day I first set my eyes on you, now leave and never return.” Bronza commanded, as he pointed towards the door with his fingers.
Basha looked at him angrily, without uttering a word, he left and rode on his horse home. When he got home, he thought of the possible way to kill Alloy, he needed to plan with Greg immediately. he had a secret meeting with Greg, without Alloy’s knowledge.
“May I know the reason for Alloy’s absence?” Greg asked genuinely.
“Alloy betrayed me, he took what belonged to me, and I must kill him for that.”
Greg was so shocked with Basha’s words, he couldn’t believe a day would come when Basha would think of killing Alloy. “May I know what he took from you Basha, that made you decide on killing him.” Greg asked surprised.
“He stole Melie from me, I have always wanted her for myself, not under my watch would I let Alloy be with her.” Basha said, with anger fuming inside of him.
“I can’t believe you would trade your best friend for a woman, a friend that had stood by you for so long, why Basha, what is it she has that all your mistresses and maidens of this kingdom don’t have?” Greg asked.
“Enough! Don’t you dare question me Greg, don’t bite the hand that fed you, this is my land, and I am your king, I have given you everything you wanted, treated you best amongst the other armies, I never complained of it, just this one thing I asked of you, you chose to speak to me this way Greg.” Basha said as he walked towards him.
