I barely heard Lilly’s whispered comment as we hurried down the hallway.
I was still riding the adrenaline from what had just happened with Jewel.
For the first time in my life, I’d actually stood up to her.

“Oh, so you’re just going to walk away now?” Jacob called from behind us.
