Storm Saturday morning arrived far too quickly. I woke slowly, wrapped in the warmth of Doyle’s arms. For a few blissful seconds, I forgot everything. The ceremony. The pack. The hundreds of strangers I would soon have to face. All of it disappeared beneath the simple comfort of lying beside my mate. I kept my eyes closed and snuggled closer, hoping I could steal a few more minutes of sleep.
