CHAPTER 38 —Ink That Burns (Carolyn’s POV) “I don’t know how to control this,” I whispered to the empty shed and the wind stirred again, like it heard me. But I needed to do something to calm the situation and I needed to do it fast because the wind was getting out of control and I was literally freezing to death. I pulled in a slow breath and remembered something Rowena had told me before I left. When power rises, breathe, your body listens to your mind before it listens to instinct.
