The coachman urges the horses forward and we pull away from the gates. I raise my hand to through the window in a weak wave. Grace waves her hand as well, and smallest smile touches her face. And then they are out of sight. I take a shaky breath and wipe the tears from my cheeks. Makeup dusts onto my fingertips. I do my best to smear the makeup back on to my skin, but I fear I'm only making it worse. My disguise needs to be intact in order for me to get through the castle gates.
