6.5 HOURS The moment I step back through the door, into the reception area, both Alesha and Jenny jump to their feet and come over, each taking an arm. “Are you okay? What could they tell you?” Jenny asks. “I’m okay, I think,” I say. “They didn’t tell me anything. I suppose I should have asked, but my brain’s a mess so it didn’t occur to me.” “Do you want to go back in and check? Or, if you like, I can do it and ask on your behalf,” Jenny offers. “I don’t think they’d give out any information to anyone else,” Alesha says, “but if you want to go back in, then I can go with you.” “Yes, please,” I reply. “We’ll all go,” Jenny adds.
