In the Hands of Fate: No One Escapes. The first time I stepped into our classroom, everything felt the same—nothing new except for the unfamiliar faces around me. I never paid much attention to things like that. I’ve always felt uneasy around girls, especially when I’m alone with one, so I usually stick with my old friends. Relationships were the last thing on my mind, even though most of my classmates had their eyes on the beautiful girls in our class. For me, it was all about surviving whatever challenges lay ahead. The teacher soon arrived, introducing herself before deciding to arrange our seats according to her plan. It was unusual when she asked if anyone had poor eyesight. I hesitated for a moment, but since I’ve needed glasses since fifth grade, I raised my hand. Without much thought, she moved me to the front row. I didn’t mind the change—until I glanced at my new seatmate. For a brief moment, my heart skipped a beat. I didn’t know why. It was just a glance, nothing more. But something about it felt different, something I couldn’t quite explain. And just like that, my once predictable day suddenly felt anything but ordinary.
