Jessica’s P.O.V The water was cold, impossibly cold, and it stole the air from my lungs in ragged gasps. I clawed, my arms and legs waving uselessly, but I still couldn’t escape it. LET ME GO! I opened my mouth to scream but water flooded into my lungs, making me splutter and furiously kick. The strong hand cupping the back of my head shoved my face further into the water. I thrashed, screaming, but the water muffled everything. HELP ME! Bubbles floated all around me as my chest heaved with the water I was gulping in. And then, with a jolt, I was free. Gasping, and sputtering, I lurched upright, hacking out a strangled cough. My body ached, every muscle screaming in protest, but I quickly noticed, I was wet…but not with water…more like sweat? And there were sheets under me. Disorient
