"So there it was, I was alive, I had survived. No one saved me, because I saved myself" Eva's POV:- "Eva I have never seen your hair what is up with that?" Claire asked me as we both walked side by side on the side walk as a group of tourists passed by with their annoyingly vibrant coloured touristy hats and their sundresses. This place never sleeps and also does not let sleep. The fact that I notice even the moving wings of a fly sometimes when the days are filled with stress or impending doom on my life, which is like always—I really hate when tourist roam the streets around drunk out of their minds in the late hours of the night. They do stupid things and turn up dead or worse. At least in this city. Good thing i'll be getting the keys of the mansion today. Cannot wait to be away from the town square in a quite street. Claire on the other hand loves it. she seems to drive on the thrill she gets from living here. I wonder how, sometimes when I see her at her balcony watching the tourists and the street food the hustle bustle all around the town square which is where her apartment is. One thing I love about her apartment would be the presence of Angus playing his trumpet every night, puts me at ease. "There is nothing to see honestly. Its just hair." perhaps, lying would only lead to more lying. Keep it easy and simple with Claire. She is a good girl, does not necessarily need to get involved in the bloody shenanigans of what this city really is. "You Eva look as if there are endless amounts of thing that you don't let people know about you and sometimes it is all fun and mysterious but really creepy at others." I chuckled at her comment as we rounded the corner and came in view of the large ancient mansion that I have been keeping an eye on for quiet sometime now. It was an eye catcher for all tourists and quiet a profitable investment to the coffee house situated on the opposite side. The rustic woody feeling of the street gave it it's sought after wao factor. "If that's what keeps me safe then I think I have no intention to stop doing that. The worst thing for a woman to be is weak and the more my enemy knows of me, the more weak I am." alertness is what kept me alive for so long, and not trusting people was maybe in the coding of my DNA, though Claire was a different story I did not trust her but if she ever needed my help I would never turn my back on her. She was a good friend. We passed the mansion and made way for the coffee shop. I have been coming here every other day for a month now. There comes a point where things do get suspicious, making sure that does not happen I decided to not go certain days. especially while I was on my period. There sparked a certain allure to this city when I started my period. I could see smells too. Maybe I haven't been here in so long had to do something with it "Claire have you ever been ito this mansion." I said pointing towards the peice of art that was situated smack between the busiest part of Sayonara. "It really is an eye catcher. You know it amazed me when I first saw that this was here around all the hustle bustle and lets say the litter that this city produces. Overwhelming I must say," I added after she started giving me a suspicious look. I could feel it that she was uncomfortable when I mentioned the mansion. "No I haven't, because I have no business in that place. Honestly looks ugly to me with how it is weirdly decorated." affirmative, she might know the monster. It was a gift, I could tell how one felt clearly. It was like I could feel their emotions, at first it was like being bombarded with it but then I learned to control it. There was a time when the wailing of women over their dead children sent me into a period of absolute isolation, when the great plague hit. And now I could tell what a certain individual felt within a distance of a few meters and could shut it all off just a well enough. Most people call people like me as psychics but I'd rathee have them think of me as one of a kind human or Bender in the world. X---------------X just a little teaser, hope you like it. SMR
