Eva's POV :-
After Claire had left, I decided to take a look around the city and probably get to know this place for my own good. Arriving here a month ago, I had yet so much to uncover. All the time since I've been here, has only been invested in keeping an eye on this mansion and since a common friend introduced me and Claire to each other so that I could settle here comfortably- I only know her here. Her thinking that we shared a mutual friend was absolutely necessary. Loose ends lead to traces and traces lead to inevitability of discovery.
So paying the waitress I stood up and gathered my stuff to take off. This place has changed so much that I cannot even recognize any street or even a forest around here. I need to know the Stuff that goes on around here. Keeping a careful watch is what has kept me alive for this long and I do not intend on having it any other way.
The world is a dark place? I think about this sometimes. One narrative places its bets on the fact claiming people are the darkness. I beg to differ. People try to be good. The world and their destinies grab the darkness out from deep within them and pull out. Even with the Alesina's I do still think that their desires and destinies and situations put them here.
My phone buzzed indicating a call, fishing it out of my bag I put it on my ear. "I have found the last ingredients. You can come by anytime and we can start it." came a familiar voice from the other end.
"I am on my way. Lets do it today," I replied to her and picked up my pace.
"Alright and you remember your promise?" She asked me.
"I do not give my word unless I know I can fulfill it. Don't worry if I have to jump between here and the veil I will. I will be there shortly". I assured her and hung up turning the corner. Guess sight seeing just got pushed back on the list of things to do.
I have been waiting a long long long time to do all this. And now I have my chance. The thought of meeting him overwhelms me but it was long overdue. This need for revenge that runs through my veins like blood has waited long enough. Either I put a stop to the running or surrender, that were the two options Michael gave me. I chose the third one. I'd inflict enough pain on them that they wouldn't be able to come after me or be powerful enough to incur a surrender.

"Just focus on the memory you want to go through then when you find it, cage it in your mind and circle around it. Its simple just a little concentration. And move your head forward to break the power contact where you want to stop. Okay?" Abelia instructed me and i nodded in response.
I had been sitting like this on a chair, my head between her palms for 15 minutes. Every time she started chanting the spell I had to break the connection. What seems more hard now than the search for ingredients to this spell is controlling my memories. They all flash in one go making it too much for my mind to handle. I can't let everything through at once. The first step into it all and I'd ruin everything if not done right. I've heard how intuitive he is and the consequences of one wrong move can destroy it all.
Taking a deep breath I got myself ready and search through my memories. What would be the memory that brings forth a reaction. Once I found it, caging it was now the most important task. I had to trim the edges in order to only put through what was important. I kept running around it maybe if I encircle it I could cage it. It was getting near to how I wanted it.
"Okay do it. Now Abelia" I motion her to start it.
As soon as she started the spell, pain coursed through me. What helped me this time was that it was lesser than before and it did get lesser with every second. Maybe I just had to focus.
I keep running around that memory in my mind and started from the beginning just as I wanted it.
The moon had reached its apex and the village submerged into a deep slumber, soon as the sunset people wouldn't wander far away from their homes and most would simply sleep that was night for them. The break of dawn with the first light hitting the village woke everybody. However at this moment the only sounds that could be heard were heard were the wolves howling away from cliffs of the mountains surrounding the village. The weather had just started warming up and the pack females seemed go have given birth to their pups. Wolves are very protective of their pups. The girl's father had told her that they are majestic creatures and a sight of their pups is absolutely rare.
The girl stood under the oak tree watching the whole village deep in slumber, dreaming of their fantasies and their fears. Though she stood under the darkness of the oak her beauty still remained as it was. The darkness can only conceal the light she remembered her mother saying as she put the medicinal leaves on her scar. "Your eyes would still be beautiful and your face would still make the world stop a d stare in awe and your hair would still bring you power and a handsome mate one day no matter how darker the days get because your presence would never change."
she now stood under the tree in her sky blue dress reaching down to her feet. The material thick against her skin. The bottom covered in mud torn at places from running through thorns and away from the wolves. Blood matted and dried around her sleeves.
She knew it was about to take a turn for the worse and just as the sun rises every morning she started humming a tune horrifying yet beautiful. Her presence had written the fate of the village days before she even stood under that old oak. She always knew it before it happened. This tune brought to the reality of her life it never calmed her down. It gave her a rush an overwhelming feeling that she disliked and yet didn't know any other way to keep her sane.
And suddenly everything was on fire. Screams ricochet from every corner. The cry for help was all the sound that was in the air and her humming. Black cloaked figures moved inside the village and soon they were gone.
The girl knew it was her fault but she couldn't save them now. She was just a 13 year old girl. And she remembered the words of her mother that stopped her from saving the people.
"Never let anybody catch you. Be the wind. No matter if you have to sacrifice everything you have. Make me this promise my love. You will never let them catch you." she turned away and let her mind carry her away in the wind as she felt the blood pooling around her feet. You are responsible for all this. Running is always what you do. But who brought you here? The Alesina's.
Destroy them.
I moved my head forward taking deep breaths to calm myself down. It was as of my head was stuck inside a gong bell and someone had been ringing it. When I was steady, standing up I turned and looked at Abelia.
"Did it go through?" I asked her.
"I think it did. I felt it reaching but....." The pause she gave was really unnerving. This was something that nobody knew and if I sent more with it nothing will work. This had to work correctly.
"But what? You said it would go through. Abelia I can't risk this going haywire." I would say my calm exterior was starting to dismantle and I haven't even done anything yet. This city has been casting a certain effect on me since the day I arrived. Its been so long I forgot who I even was in that time and now the city trying to make me remember is strange.
"No dont worry I think it did go through but I have done this type of magic quiet a few times actually but I've only sent written letters or physical things but never memories and here's the thing every time a message goes I feel this power surge and it is always the same no matter what I send and for whoever I send it. But yours was different I have never felt this kind of surge." Her words confused me.
"Different how?" I questioned.
"It was.....it was like something laced with good and evil and it was really strong. I felt as though I couldn't hold on longer. It was overwhelming, can't explain but it felt like bliss. As if a person holding the whole world on their shoulder dies and becomes absolutely free. It was glowing on some parts and dark on others. Evil dark....."
"The only thing that matters now is that its through. I want to continue doing this for sometime. Would you be able to and willing to help me?" I asked her so she would stop discussing it for obvious reasons. There are holes to this reality that she has peeked through and I can't put her in danger with the knowledge.
"Alright anytime just give me a call an hour earlier to prepare things. And what about my payment?" She asked me.
"I have found something's and some I am still figuring out. We made a deal blood bound I will never back out."
"Alright that's okay. Look I never had a vendetta against him. Hell! we were great friends but I guess times have changed. I have lost too much to go back now."
