"You wake up every morning to fight the same demons, that left you so tired the night before. And that my love, is bravery" -Unkown Eva's POV:- "Shall we get started?" I questioned the set of people sitting around the large mahogany table. People who I would have never imagined to come face to face with, men and women that became the reason I was here back in this city. The world is a rounded place, I would never say otherwise. You can never meet someone once. "Evangelic Whitmore. We are delighted by your presence here at our city. We did receive your letter." Raaky recovered from his shock a bit late and started speaking. I could've sworn his eyes never stayed the same color even from across the room I could see them evidently changing shades. "Well I did put the right address, it had to reach here. I do still doubt the delight among this council with my return though." I answered him and he raised his brow. "I must say you are quiet dauntless, walking here despite the reputation of this city. Why would you even come here?" he spoke giving a hint of the devil in him. Something most women would deem as swoon worthy. "I grew up calling this city home. Being familiar with its sunshine and darkness is something I have inherited. However I take it we are not gathered here to see how valiant I am. I am sure there are more pressing matters." He is a different person now. "Very well then lets get down to business. We did receive your letter, but it suggested that your council membership was an announcement." he spoke moving forward, planting his elbows on the table and entwining his fingers. "Yes it did because my seat at this council is my right and I am standing up to own it. I certainly do not see what is wrong with that." I tried putting my point through but knew I'd have to fight more for this and unprepared was just not what I did. "Ira Whitmore died about a hundred years ago however if we remember correctly he had a son not a daughter. He did not stand up to claim the position. Why now? and why you?" a man on the other side of Raaky spoke. He was suited up and built like an olympian God. Tall dark handsome. His eyes were a mixture of blue and green. He was John Hemming. A man that I remember very clearly. "What makes you think that the council needs you now when the council and "the city" is stable without you." Raaky spoke after him. "Stable? 4 bodies with missing heads have been found in the last two weeks if I am correct and they were about a block away from the Alesina mansion. Looks like your definition of stable and mine are two very different things Mr. Alesina." I continued after letting that absorb in, from the looks of it he had no idea this was happening. "This position is my inheritance and birth right, and I am here to help and find out who my family really was. I am the granddaughter of Ira Whitmore and daughter of his son who left the city and married a human. They all are now dead and this is all I have left. If you have forgotten I would like to remind you that the Whitmore's own a large amount of this city's properties that I have rightfully inherited. We "WERE" the most important members at this council and my grand father, Ira Whitmore was to be made the council head before his mysterious death. My father and grandfather were never on the same page and you all must know this." "Where were you all this time when wars broke out in the city and it burned to the ground numerous times. Reporting a few deaths that happen almost daily where the city functions as it did before will not gain you a position. Who's to say that those mysterious deaths were not the doing of a new individual in the city. " a woman on my right spoke moving forward. She seemed bold and dark from what I could see. She had been watching every move I have made since I entered this room. Like a hawk. Her eyes were bluest than the most bluest oceans i have ever seen. My guess is that she is a Sephora they are considered to be vile and discipline at the same moment. She must be Kelly Sephora. "I'd expected more from you than a vulgar accusation. And I'd like to know why wasn't I or my father informed to take this vacant seat when Ira Whitmore died. Or let alone given the information about his sudden death, no reports were handed out by the police to my family if you have forgotten. No records of how he died nothing at all. Old age is an absolutely childish reason on a death certificate." I counter questioned her. "Eva, you say that you are here to take your family's vacant seat back. But I'd like to know do you have any knowledge how this city functions let alone this council. Do you know that there are things lurking around this city that you have no knowledge of and how they protect this city. Are you so certain that you have all the abilities to work as a council member." it was Raaky who spoke this time. I knew what he was talking about. Pushing my chair backwards I stood up and that same instant the fire from the candles around the room roared with excitement. They can think of me as a little girl playing at being a heiress all they want. Truth is always what you never expect. Pulling my hand up I showed him. "Are you talking about this?" a small tornado of fire was circling my palm. "Or this?" pulling my other hand up, a small hurricane of air in the same motion like the fire on my other hand-appeared. "Or maybe this?" I put out the fire and the air hurricane pulled my sleeve up and pushed my hand out and made it still. As I pushed my forefinger in upwards direction a boulder of rock from the floor pushed its way upwards. Putting my finger down I sent the boulder back in its place. "I have every potential that this council needs in a candidate. The city however functions the way this council wants." I paused for a moment. "Plus I know that you Mr. Alesina are a class one bender having all the elements mastered and there are only ten, class one benders around the globe. The ones who are sitting on the right hand side are class 2 benders having 3 different elements at hand and the ones on left are class 3 they master in 2 elements and they are on this council because of the wealth they acquire, they work with the tourism and the import export industries of this city. The economy of this city works with their money." "You can sense the classes of the benders and their elements?" the woman from earlier asked me with astonishment in her voice. "I don't see a reason why I would not be able to. And I was not aware of my seat or my family position in this council before. That explains why I wasn't here. You see I have been down a path of discovering my ownself the name Whitmore attached to mine should have more than just this council. I'm sure." my rhetorical answers confused her however she didn't say anything. I guess they were just too stunned by my class guesses because none of them spoke and Raaky kept staring at me with narrowed eyes and a scowl. He stood up abruptly. "What makes you think you can walk in my city thinking you own it. We do not need your assistance in the council. We are better off without you. You can have your share of wealth and do whatever you want." "See now you are making this an issue. Mr. Alesina I am not here for your approval of my seat at the council. I inherited that place and it is rightfully mine." He smirked "And what if I said that you wont be given that right here." he wasn't going to back down without a fight. I chuckled at his laid back attitude with this thinking he knew who I was. "You sure are something Mr Alesina. Lets not be uncivilised. Here's the thing. You do not know me yet. I'm afraid when I resort to another way to get what I want, you and yours will not like it," I spoke with a devilish smile. "Raaky lets consider her at least. Lets look at this more rationally." Clark was the one to speak now. Raaky pushed his chair back and slowly rose up walking towards me while talking. There was something really different about the way he was talking, it was as if I could hear the wheels in his head running and formulating something I was unaware of. "Miss Whitmore you have my interest at peak lets see if you can make a suitable member." he stopped in front of me. Now we are talking. "I have a task for you to do. If you do that, I can guarantee your position secure at the council. If you cannot do it then you will leave the city without a word and all the property you own here." he spoke. "Mr. Alesina I do not need to do any task to prove my self however I've never been a person to back out from a challenge. You do what you have to for a difficult task and I will be present to face it," I addressed him. "Your task will be given to you tomorrow noon at the Alesina mansion, be there on time." he smirked at me. Asshole. "Alright then I shall be on my way then." turning I walked towards the door. But stopped when I opened the door and turned to the men gawking at where my ass was surprisingly even Kelly Sephora. "Oh and I forgot to tell you that I am a class one bender. I always seem to forget that little fact while introducing myself." Moving my hand in circular motion I created a small water tornado and with a flick turned it to ice creating a symbol that I had know for the long length of my life. It landed on the dark table with a loud thud alarming all of them quiet effectively. Lets see if Raaky catches on to this quick enough. "Good night, ladies and gentlemen." Walking forward I closed the door and the last glimpse of that room showed me that they were as stunned as I wanted them to be. X------------------------X SMR:)
