Jonah got to the D.C. headquarters of the Networkers after dark. Eva"s Rover was a great ride, but damn if it wasn"t slow on the interstates. He took the stairs two at a time before he damn near ran through the glass doors. The receptionist at the counter didn"t seem to be phased as he slid to a stop in front of her.
"Evenin"," Jonah caught his breath before he tried again. "Evenin", ma"am. I need to see a woman detained here."
"I"m sorry." The woman didn"t look away from her screen as she typed. "Visitors are prohibited this late. You will have to come back tomorrow between the hours of nine and two."
"I didn"t drive like a bat out of hell from North Carolina to be told about visiting hours." Jonah snapped. "Bring Katarina Ocean out here. She"ll let me in."
