"So we aren't going to talk about how we nearly killed Cerith?"
Eric asks.
We sat on the roof looking down at the pub.
It's dirty, surrounded by trash and filth.
"We didn't though, did we?"
Catherine asks.
A ton of trucks take up the parking lot.
Spotting a man outside in the back, he was dumping the trash.
Eric notices him as well.
He tosses a dagger, quietly slicing the trash bag open.
"Dammit, I told them to tie this bag!"
The man yells upset as he picks up the trash.
"I mean it was mostly me. I believe I am the most powerful of the three of us."
Catherine said,
"Wel-"
Eric speaks, but he is interrupted by me.
"You are the daughter of the most powerful woman in Ohme."
I pointed out.
"To be honest, we only left a scratch on him."
Catherine said.
I smiled at both of them leaping down from the roof.
"What the hell?"
The man said, taking notice of my presence.
I sprinted, kicking him into the dumpster.
He grunts, as his back hits the dumpster.
Pulling out my sword, I pressed it against his neck.
"Have you seen a kid in there?"
I asked.
"I don't know what you're talking about. I just work in the kitchen, man. I swear I won't even leave the kitchen to clean up there until everyone leaves."
The man holds his hands up.
"Please don't kill me."
He begs as he begins to sob.
"Begging in the alleyway doesn't do you any good old man."
Eric said, leaping down.
Eric throws a dagger into the man's throat.
The man holds his throat.
Blood spills out of the man's throat onto the dirty streets, and the trash he was carrying.
As he slowly dies next to the dumpster.
"Was that really necessary?"
I asked, as Eric snatched the dagger from the man's throat.
"No one needs to know we were here. Besides, he didn't know anything."
Eric said, wiping the blood off his dagger with his cloak.
I look at Catherine and she shrugs.
"We are trying to assassinate a rogue in a public bar, Eric."
I said.
Eric slightly opened the door, ignoring me.
Eric and Catherine crouch, walking in slowly.
Following behind them, I sheathe my sword.
We sneaked into the kitchen, seeing two men sitting at the table playing cards.
They lift their heads from the table, turning their attention towards us.
"How did they notice us?"
I asked.
"I don't know."
Catherine says, gripping her staff.
"Maybe it's your newfound morality, Faron."
Eric says.
As their eyes widen, Eric throws out two of his daggers at their throats simultaneously.
Before they can say anything, the man on the left spurts out, blood falling to the ground.
While the one on the right holds his throat, he reaches for a butcher knife, running towards us.
I grip the handle of my sword.
Eric dashes in front of me, slicing the man's hand off.
Before man can make any more noise.
Eric kicks the dagger in the man's throat and groans in more pain.
Falling on the ground.
They both choke on the ground, eventually going limp.
"Hush."
Eric said, standing over their corpses.
The kitchen floor is now painted red.
"That was quick."
Catherine said, as she walked up to the door.
Where cheers and roars can be heard.
Catherine peeked out the door.
"There are beasts out there." Catherine says, astonished.
"It's a bar where most gangs are in Ciphia or possibly outside Ciphia. Gather around in this bar and get their best fighters to fight. And place bets on winners, this is how they keep money flowing."
Eric says.
I inspect the kitchen looking for anything I can use.
"How do you know that?"
I asked.
"I did my research."
Eric said.
"This will be the perfect time to execute our target. While they're distracted by their own fighting arena."
Catherine says.
Eric walks up to the door, next to Catherine.
"This pub definitely belongs to Ciphia's underworld."
Eric says as he peeks out the door.
The sounds of flesh can be heard as it is ripped and torn apart.
"They are vicious creatures."
Eric says.
I walked up to the door, standing next to Catherine and Eric.
Peeking out of the door, I saw a giant blue lizard beast covered in scars.
The beast roars as another beast reacts to it, roaring back.
The crowd grows louder.
