Sam’s POV

“Alice, baby, hurry up! We’re already late for school!” I yelled, leaning against my car with the door open.

“I’m out already, baby,” she called, stepping out of the house in her short pleated skirt. She pecked my lips before sliding into the seat.

I smiled. She smiled back.

If only she knew today would be her last day as my girlfriend.

Alice’s POV

Sam parked smoothly in the school lot. Heads turned instantly.

Whispers floated around us as we walked to class. I knew why — I was dating the hottest boy in school. Girls wanted him. Guys envied him.

They said Sam was a heartbreaker, a boy who never lasted more than a week with any girl. But after the way he treated me this weekend, I was sure I was different.

We split up in the hallway. “Bye, sweetheart,” I said with a wave.

He gave me that killer smile. God, he was just so cute.

Brittany, my best friend, had saved me a seat in class.

“Hey, buddy. How was your weekend?” she asked, hugging me.

People assumed we were secretly dating, but Brittany was a lesbian — and dating my sister, Charlotte.

“It was fine… but you ditched us,” I pouted.

She laughed, ruffling my hair. “Sorry, cutie pie. Mom’s leaving for another long trip, and I had homework.”

“Then you’re coming over today,” I said. “Charlotte misses you.”

Her eyes widened. “Oh crap! I promised to visit her. I didn’t even text her all weekend.”

I grinned. “You’ll make it up today. No excuses.”

Brittany tilted her head, smirking. “So… how was your weekend with Alice?”

I smirked back. “We made out a lot. She can’t get enough of me.”

“And yet…” She raised a brow.

I leaned closer, lowering my voice. “There’s this new girl — Sandra. She’s gorgeous. Alice has lasted two whole weeks, Bri. That’s too long for me.”

Brittany rolled her eyes. “Heartbreaker. If I treated Charlotte like you treat these girls, you’d lose it.”

I chuckled. “You wouldn’t dare.”
