Chapter 9 It had taken Conley a couple of days more than he’d anticipated to move into what was now his and Brian’s home. Or as Brian had put it, “Our home after my year is up.” He had no doubts he’d be able to fulfill the terms of his grandfather’s will, although he still hadn’t figured out why Alistair had set them up to begin with. He could sort of understand his desire to keep his existence a secret from Brian’s father, although he didn’t agree with it. The whole house thing he put down, when he thought about it, to Alistair’s wanting to be certain he was a responsible man, not given to frivolousness with money, or otherwise.
