Chapter 20 NOAH ARRIVED HOME from school one afternoon in early November ready, as usual, for some loving and expecting to find Tom waiting for him in bed. Tom, however, was not in their bedroom. He was sitting at the desk in the den, using the computer. “Why aren’t you in bed waiting for me?” Noah said. “Because I’m waiting for you here.” “That’s not exactly what I asked you.” Tom closed the program he was using and stood up.
