THEY LEFT FOR Orlando late Friday afternoon, just before rush hour began. Tom had booked them into a motel for the night and arranged a late checkout the next day, so they would have a place to rest and nap between the early morning practice session and the afternoon performance. Noah was nervous because he would be meeting Tom’s mother and probably his sister, and he wondered if Tom’s mother would figure out that they were a couple, given that she knew her son was gay.
