A Dark Proposition

Circumstances

The sound of birds woke me up. I looked around to find that I was not in my comfy little apartment but an enormous room, that two of my apartments could fit in. The ceiling was decorated in a tutor design and the floors where white marble. The bed was something out of a historical novel, with black satin fabric hanging from the dark oak bed posts. The black comforter was very soft and fluffy, it felt amazing to touch. The sheets were red satin. I had never seen anything like it. I was completely shocked and confused, especially considering the fact that I was not wearing my clothes. I was wearing a black and gray t-shirt with no bra. My hair was no longer pinned up and my clothes were nowhere in sight. I jumped out of bed to try to find any of my belongings. I was starting to feel very scared and shaken by everything. I don't remember much from yesterday, but what I do remember is His eyes. River Trey. His eyes were black and red. I have never seen anything like it. I still couldn't fully comprehend what was going on. I was still searching when I heard the door squeak open and a deep voice say "Lose something?" I turned around quickly to see River standing there in nothing but jeans. "Where am I? And what exactly happened?" He smirked "I don't know what you are talking about Eli." "Please, River, No more games." I said. " What happened last night? Where are my clothes?" River tilted his head to the side and said "You didn't sleep with him did you?" I gasped "What are you talking about?" He said " You know what I am talking about. And why are you still living in that sh***y apartment?" with all my built up frustration I yelled "Where the f**k are my clothes!? Why am I here River? WHAT THE HELL DO YOU WANT FROM ME?" River inched towards me slowly and said "I feel protective over you." " I would kill anyone that tries to hurt you. Especially r****t pigs like your previous landlord." Still confused I just listened, backing away a little at a time. He continued " I have a proposition for you. I'd still like to talk about it. I know you had every intention of coming to Roy's Tavern, but I followed you to make sure. When I saw Danny do what he did, I had to protect you, to save you." I scoffed "Why would you do that? I am nothing to you or anyone else in this town. What do you want with me? Is this a sick joke or prank?!!" River looked heartbroken at my statement and moved toward quickly. He said "No Eli! You are important to me. I have been watching you, for years. You are different and we both know it. I brought you here after I saved you. This is my house. We are in the mountains, you are safe. I would never hurt you. But I really need for you to listen. I have a proposition for you. No games, no tricks." by this time he was almost close enough to touch me, I sank back away from him and said "W-wha-What proposition?" He came even closer, he was close enough to me that I could smell his minty breath on my face. He reached his hand out to touch my cheek. I felt the coldness of his hand on my face, so gentle. I didn't move an inch out of fear, not helped by the fact that i had on very little clothing. I was so scared. His eyes were back to their emerald color, which baffled the hell out of me, but i remained still and waited for him to speak. He breathed very ruggedly and said " Stay with me. Be with me. I love you. Please don't say no right away, let me finish." Still staring into my eyes and his hands and fingers stroking my face and hair, he continued " I know you dream of having better things in life than a broken down shack for a home, and a job at a book store making seven dollars an hour, with nothing to show for it. I want you more than I have ever wanted anything in my life." He ran his fingers over my lips, and down my neck. There he placed his hand flat on my chest. " I want you to love me. Marry me." Shocked and overwhelmed I stammered " Wha- what?? Why do you love me? Why me? Why now?... You love me? What is this? And again, Where are my damn clothes?!" River giggled " Your dress was ripped from the altercation last night, I had my assistant go buy you some more clothes. And why you? You are different. Pure. Why now? Circumstances. You are in my house. You slept in my bed, in my clothes. I saw you. I felt you. And I want you." I replied "You don't know me." almost in a whisper. By this time I was pinned against a wall and River was just staring at me, like he could see through me. His leg was in-between mine, my hands were against his chest trying to gain some kind of personal space. That is until He grabbed my hands and pinned them above my head. River then kissed my neck very lightly, and inhaled deeply. I tried to struggle against his unbelievable strength, until I heard his voice in my head say "I know everything about you. I know your thoughts, your hopes, your dreams. Most importantly I know what you are and what you are going to become. And I know you love me too." I stopped struggling instantly and stared into his eyes that were flickering between black and green. I whispered "What the hell are you?" River smiled, that too sexy side smile, and said "Vampire."
