I jumped up. “Stop!” The man turned to me, and suddenly I had a gun pointed at my face. My chest heaved, and then I got a better look. His eyes were full of rage, his jaw clenched. “John,” I said. His eyes turned confused, but he still pointed the gun at me. “You know me?” he asked. I nodded slowly. I didn’t even look out of the corner of my eye to see Dr. Lee. I had to keep John focused on me. To keep him talking to me.
