Chapter Thirty-Nine Home Snow was falling in flakes so tiny, they were almost invisible until they landed on the ground to form ice crystals. It made her steps crunch, and the resulting wetness began to seep into her clothes. She had been traveling for five days, moving slower than usual through the forest as it was strange and frightening terrain for her. She’d also had to search for the marks on the tree to show her she was on the right trail, but the marks had stopped two days ago.
