Miracles really do happen.
Truly.
I can’t believe that just thirty minutes ago, I was on the verge of being forced to endure something unthinkable, even though it didn’t happen, the memory of that moment lingers in my mind like a shadow I can’t shake. My body trembles uncontrollably in the back of the ambulance, shivering so badly that it doesn’t matter how hot it is outside. The sun is high in the sky,yet all I feel is the cold fear still coursing through me.
Everywhere around me is chaos, sirens wailing, paramedics moving quickly, people shouting but in the middle of it all, I feel completely alone, swallowed by the memory of what could have happened.
