Helping Out the One Who Made Them Smile

"Eh!? YOU RESIGNED!?" "Eh!? YOU RESIGNED!?" The two of us immediately freaked out when we were told by Mister Andrew himself that he gave his resignation letter. "C-calm down, you two." "B-but...who will be the host for that show?" "I believe that they already got a replacement." "Huh!? What!? That's absurd! You're irreplaceable! How could they?" Leen and I were unhappy to know that the comedian we idolized just got dumped to the side like that. We want to help him in any way possible but the thing is, how are we supposed to do that? Huh? Wait for a second. If I remember correctly, that person has a lot of connections. Perhaps she could provide the help we can't give. I'll seek her help then. "Uh, Mister Andrew...sir? Would you like to come with us to our school? I can ask the chairperson to help you out." "Eh?" Mister Andrew just got stunned. My sister, well... She got her arms crossed and had her gaze of doubt that could even my bones. "Broki, just when did you and Miss Rose Crimson got close enough for you to request something?" "Uh, I know you're a good lad who wants to help me but... Are you sure about this?" Their questions overlapped with one another. I'm with you two. I'm confused as well. Casting that aside, I'll take Michaela's offer she sent me via mail that I received last night. "I prefer keeping it a secret. Now, let's go! We only got five minutes left! Mister Andrew... Sorry if we're pushy but I swear to you that you won't regret it if you come with us." Mister Andrew paused for a moment and gave it some thoughts. He then sighed and smiled weakly. "W-well, I have time to spare. It wouldn't hurt to accompany you lads. Anyway, may I ask for your names?" "Me? I'm Leen, your number one fan! And that thing is my brother, Yukti." "Hey why are you addressing me as 'that thing'?" Leen just ran in front of us and sticks her tongue out. ••• "W-wait... Is this for real? Are you really Andrew Lament, in the flesh!?" We're in the chairperson's office. Of course, I dropped my sister to her room since the instructor is present. Lucky for me, my instructor is currently taking her leave. Leen's pretty mad after knowing that she can't come. "Eh, Broki... Can't you just use your rune card to put a clone of me inside the room?" "That won't do. Now, stop arguing and get inside already. We're getting stared at by your classmates, you see?" "Urk... I hate you Broki." "I'll treat you during lunch break alright? So stop sulking and go to your seat already." "Yay! Thanks Broki! You're the best!" It felt like I just got scammed. At least I got to see my younger sibling smile, that's enough for me. Back to the present, Michaela, the chairperson, is walking in circles while checking Mister Andrew. "Are you really Andrew Lament? The comedian?" "Ah, yes. Indeed I am Andrew Lament." She paused for a moment and tapped the near her mouth with her pen. "Then how did he got here without causing a ruckus?" "Ah? Ah! I didn't notice it 'til you said it madame, but yes, I was able to enter the school premises and walked at the hallways but neither students nor the faculty staff noticed me. I wonder why." "Dont tell me..." Chairperson Michaela diverted her gaze to me. I just averted her gaze by closing my eyes. "You have the [Invisibility] rune card?" "Something similar to that. I used it for Mister Andrew to stay incognito for now." "So, why are you here? I believe that Mister Andrew is here after being dragged by you, but what's the purpose in doing so?" "To sum it up, I want to ask if you could him Mister Andrew." "Help him? For what?" I looked at Mister Andrew who's behind me. He nodded and stepped forward to tell his story. As for me, I excused myself to give them the opportunity to get into negotiations. In the end, I'm still a student, and I don't need to dive deeper in some technical discussions I don't know about. I went to my next class, which will be held in room G-1. This room is located somewhere in the left wing of the main building. I opened the sliding door, and saw Snow playing with her hair. She sat on the second rightmost seat in front. "Oh? Yukti, good morning." "Warm morning, Snow." And that marks the end of our conversation. It's pretty awkward, I know. But my ability to engage in idle conversations with anyone aside my sister is garbage-tier. Perhaps Snow knew about it, so she's the one who did the talking, breaking the icy atmosphere between us. "S-say Yukti..." "Hmm?" "Why aren't you in our first class? Ah, sure our teacher is absent but I'm just curious... Where were you during that time?" "It's a secret." "Eh!? Why!?" "If I say I'm defecating, would that suffice?" "D-defecating? You could just call it poopi -- wait, that's not it! Stop pulling my leg!" I couldn't help but laughed at Snow. "So, you can make a bright smile like that, huh?" Huh? Someone just entered our lobby. It's Faze Marshall, the First Seat of the Crimson Academy's Elites. She might be composed, but her pride is...uh... "Is something wrong, Miss Faze?" "I would like you to come to the dome after this class. Would that be fine? You too, Miss Snow." "Eh? Me too?" says Snow, obviously shocked to know that she's included as well. Hmm. What could this be? "May I know the reason?" "It's something important. Please?" "Okay. I will." Faze just bowed gently after receiving my reply and quickly turned her back from me. She's moody as ever, just like how her mother was before. "Hey Yukti." "Yes?" She crept towards my ear and whispered. "Maybe she's still mad about her loss during that test?" "Maybe. But I don't think she's unreasonable to do something against her family's morale." "Huh? What do you mean by that?" "The Marshall Family members never do any underhanded tricks. That's what they're known for." "How did you—" "How did I know? Simple. I've been employed by the head of the Marshall Family and her mother, Celes Marshall before." Snow went back to her seat and stared at me while putting her hands on her jaw, supporting her position. "Is something wrong?" "Nothing. I just realized that I don't know a lot about you." I widened my eyes. That gesture, the way she delivered her words... It's just like Cory's. You truly are sisters. "You'll know soon enough", I said as we stood up and greeted the class instructor.
