Snow (Part One)

What the heck just happened!? We're overjoyed to see our boss being happy after seeing three lifeless bodies from afar. But that feeling of satisfaction immediately flushed out as we saw our boss fell to the ground as if he's some puppet that got its strings cut off. "Boss!" "Protect him at all cost! Everyone, on your guard!" "What happened to him!?" "Don't ask me! Anyway, we need to send him to the infirmary!" Now, I think I've seen this before... Right! It happened recently to our classmate! "Hey guys, this might be problematic! That other guy also fell like this and hasn't been awoken ever since!" "What!?" It's not just me, it's the whole group that feels the anxiety surging from the depths of our hearts. "Urk..." "Hey...? What's wrong...?" "My strength...I dunno but... it's slowly depleting." A voice overlapped with my colleague's -- it's a familiar voice. It's that b***h! ••• "Sorry for that. But I need to render you immobile." "What did you do, you witch!" From being called a b***h to being called a witch... Your boys and your naming sense are unethical. Well then... I'll do my part of the plan. "Manifest, [Pulse Shield]!" I used my beloved rune card -- the memento I have from my late mother. Contrary to its name however, it's in the form of a ring and not a shield. Another peculiar fact of this ring is that it never shielded me even once -- "Hah? You're trying to fight us? Don't be absurd. You know you can't beat all of us." "Try me." "She's starting to move! Get her, everyone!" The truth is, the more I move... "Gotcha!" "It's a miss." The more I engaged in combat... "HAAAAAAAAAA! Take this! [Axe Throw]!" "Tch!" "She's pretty nimble like that dead bastard!" The PULSE...is charging. "I got you now!" "As if!" I did my best countering and evading attacks. Compared to my sisters, not to mention my mother, their attacks are slow. Strength is nothing if you can't hit the target. It's about time. My ring changed its color from green to violet. "What is she doin'!?" "Don't know, don't care. Anyway, she's dead meat!" If I were in their shoes, I would react that way. Instead of running around and trying to evade their attacks, I ran straight towards the mob. "Hahahahahahahahaha! This girl is crazy! Are you that willing to die by our hands? Die, you trash!" I know. I know that you guys were just under in the state of hypnosis -- that's not your real character, right? Don't worry, I'll save you guys. It's not that we're close. I don't need the prestige that might follow after this clean-up operation of Yukti. I just don't want any more victims to suffer, just like how my mother suffered before she gave birth to me. "I'll wipe that smirk off yours! DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!" I stopped in front of the one who wields the axe and was about to hack my face. However, I just smirked, to which that guy was angry about. This is the only moment that my rune card will act as a "shield". The blade was about to came into contact with my forehead when my ring activated and blasted an energy pulse that rendered everyone within a five meter radius to be knocked back and suffer from paralysis. "It's been awhile since I used my beloved rune card. Ah, Yukti...you better come back fast. I'm tired." I sat on the ground while supporting the weight with my arms. Yukti, after hearing what my rune cards [Rune Leech] and [Pulse Shield] could do, he immediately made this plan. At first, I questioned his way of thinking but now, I don't know how what to say -- his line of thought is similar to my mother. While resting, awaiting Yukti's return, I remembered my mother's teachings, and how I end up here. ••• My mother's a Spartan. Despite the existence of the common sense that we succubi are more on ranged rather than melee, she didn't care what the others say. In short, she's an oddball. "Is that your all, Snow?" "S-sorry mother...I am lacking in stamina..." "That's why we're doing this! Come on, stand up and continue our training!" My younger days was so hard. I could feel my body in a state of intense fatigue. I can't feel my limbs anymore. I don't have a single day with my breath being steady and light. I can't blame my mother though. "Listen Snow. The people outside might see us as honey traps, even though we're not." "Honey traps? What's that?" My mother just chuckled, brushed my hair and continued talking. "You see, I got a bad experience outside this lovely place of ours. Also, about that word I said before, you'll learn what it means when you grow up. Just promise me this; don't trust anyone easily, especially if it's a male." I nust nodded in response, still confused of what she said during that time. Back in my hometown, my mother -- someone who granted me all of her features; bluish round eyes and hair, among others -- was known as the best combatant that even our elder acknowledged it. Her unique fighting style is noteworthy, but none of the succubi living in there couldn't do what she can do. That ended up with my mother living in solitude. Shortly after her death, I went to the elder's house and ask who's my father. My mother always told me that only she and the elder knew about my father's real identity. When I got there, I saw two unfamiliar faces. They're both females. Moreover, they're elves. These people never came in our humble neighborhood. I tried to excuse myself but the two strangers rushed towards me, hugged me and cried. It was that time when I knew that these strangers are actually my half-sisters. I thought at first that I finally attained a peaceful life -- laughing with my sisters, train with them, go for a shopping spree. But Fate didn't allow that stability to continue. Shortly after a year after I lived with my sisters, I decided to get my own place and my sisters supported my decision wholeheartedly. But, the next day unveiled a sorrowful moment for me -- I found out that my sister Cory has died. We tried to stay strong, and continue our lives the way we do. Living separately, we communicated using an encrypted form of communication. We purchased a pair of rune cards that allowed us to do so. Now, she had asked me to assist the chairman of the school I'm currently in. But as soon as I got my first step in the school grounds, the protection jewel my sister purchased for me immediately shattered. On that very moment, I knew that there's something wrong in this place.
