Chapter 26 Return to the Auction House

Master Bensum and Master Solin had some matters to discuss, so they arranged to meet Abel at the guild in two hours to accompany Master Bensum back to the castle. Meanwhile, Abel took a carriage to the Edmund Auction House. "I'm looking for Miss Ivette." Upon entering the Edmund Auction House, Abel didn't see Ivette, so he spoke to the male attendant who received him. Abel was still wearing his grey cotton work clothes, as he had been brought directly from the blacksmith's guild in Harvest City by Master Bensum. The clothes bore marks of scorching due to sparks from the forging process. Additionally, being young and having a common appearance made him seem like a peasant. The male attendant did not discriminate against him. Seeing that Abel arrived in a carriage, regardless of his status, being able to arrive in a carriage was not something the male attendant could afford to offend. Therefore, the attendant politely arranged for Abel to sit in the reception hall and brought him a cup of coffee while he went upstairs to help locate Ivette. "Who are you? How can a commoner just sit here in our Edmund Auction House drinking coffee?" A sharp voice rang out, and Abel looked around before realizing that the man was talking about him. Abel had become accustomed to his position in this world, as no one had ever spoken to him in such a manner since he arrived in this world. He frowned and asked, "Are you talking to me?" with a naturally dignified tone. "You're putting on quite an act." The thin man, in his thirties, sneered upon seeing the blacksmith master's insignia on Abel's chest—a style of blacksmith insignia he had never seen before. "Wearing a blacksmith's insignia, trying to imitate someone, and coming here to cheat. Someone, throw him out." "Sir, please leave." Two guards approached and said to Abel. "If the Edmund Auction House doesn't give me an explanation today, I will appeal to the Noble Arbitration Court for my rights." Abel took out a white unicorn emblem from inside his clothes, displaying it to the group. Seeing the emblem in Abel's hand, the two guards retreated in panic, and the thin man turned pale. No one dared to impersonate the emblem in this world, as doing so was a capital offense. The emblem represented the identity of nobility, and only nobles and their heirs had the right to use their family emblems. The Noble Arbitration Court protected the rights of the nobility. When a noble's dignity was violated, the Noble Arbitration Court would intervene to uphold the noble's legitimate rights. This concept sounded civilized, but the actions of the court were brutal. Whenever the Noble Arbitration Court intervened, someone would be burned to death for offending the dignity of the nobility. "What's going on here?" When Ivette came down from upstairs with brisk steps, she saw the scene in front of her. The two guards shrank back when they saw her. Ivette took a quick look at Abel's clothes and understood the general situation. Apologetically, she said, "Hello, on behalf of the Edmund Auction House, I apologize to you." When Ivette's gaze fell on the insignia on Abel's chest, her eyes froze for a moment. She asked incredulously, "Are you Abel, the 36th-ranked blacksmith master on the continent, just certified by the Blacksmith Master Evaluation at Harvest City?" "Ivette, I am indeed Abel. It's amazing how well-informed the news from the Edmund Auction House is." Abel marveled at the speed of information transmission in this world, which was almost as fast as the information dissemination on Earth in his previous life. "Abel, just now we received a message from headquarters. They specifically asked our branch to pay attention to you." Ivette glanced at the tall, thin man and continued, "We will give you an explanation for the unfair treatment you've experienced." Upon hearing this, the tall, thin man had completely collapsed on the ground. Ivette's words had sealed his fate, but apart from himself, no one would care about these matters. Abel had a purpose in bringing the blacksmith master's insignia to the Edmund Auction House this time. He wanted to deliver his seven refined greatswords and a deluxe version of the Fire Magic Refined Greatsword under a certain identity to the auction house, in order to facilitate better publicity and achieve the highest value for these weapons. "Ivette, I have brought some weapons forged by myself and would like to entrust them to your auction house for sale." Upon hearing Abel's words, Ivette's eyes lit up. This was a great opportunity for new works of a blacksmith master to be auctioned at the Edmund Auction House, and she would be the one handling it, which would greatly benefit her future promotion. "Thank you for trusting the Edmund Auction House. We will hold the auction for your works with the highest standards." Ivette said joyfully. "There is only one condition: these weapons should not be auctioned in Harvest City." Abel made a condition. Ivette began to question this condition, but then she understood. There was a new weapon shop in town, and Abel's full name was Abel Harry, making him the owner of that weapon shop. "Master Abel, that won't be a problem." Ivette didn't care where the auction would take place, as long as she handled the matter, she would get the deserved credit. Several auction house attendants unloaded several weapons from Abel's carriage, and Abel pointed to the seven refined greatswords, saying, "These are my practice works, all of which are ordinary refined weapons." Then he pointed to the deluxe version of the Fire Magic Refined Greatsword and said, "This weapon is a Fire Magic Greatsword made using dwarf techniques. After some decoration, I call it the deluxe version of the Fire Magic Refined Greatsword." "Is this a magic weapon?" Ivette was well aware of magic weapons, but they were extremely rare high-end weapons, and the headquarters of the Edmund Auction House rarely ever saw such weapons. Ivette curiously drew out the greatsword from its scabbard. The greatsword was too heavy for a lady like Ivette, and she tried to place it carefully on the counter to examine it closely. Her action startled Abel, who hurriedly shouted, "Be careful!" As Ivette's hands slipped, the Fire Magic Greatsword fell to the ground. As soon as the blade touched the ground, a red light flashed and a "clang" sounded. When they looked again, the spot where the sword had touched the ground was already charred black, with a hint of the lingering smell of fire in the air. Abel stepped forward to pick up the Fire Magic Greatsword from the ground and sheathed it again. Ivette was also stunned by the scene. If it had been placed directly on the counter, the counter would have been burned to a large hole. Thinking about this, Ivette couldn't help but pat her chest, fearing that if the auction house's counter were burned, she would be reprimanded. She couldn't help but shudder at the thought of the terrible power of this magic greatsword. If this sword were to strike a person, the consequences would be unimaginable. "Master Abel, I will charge a commission of two percent of the total price for your weapons, as a token of gratitude for your warning." Ivette decided to reduce the commission to the lowest level to thank Abel for his warning. A commission of two percent was already the greatest power she had in her hands. "Thank you, Miss Ivette." Abel had already inquired about the auction details at the Edmund Auction House and knew of Ivette's kind intentions. Ivette handled the formalities for Abel, and the seven refined greatswords and the deluxe version of the Fire Magic Refined Greatsword remained at the Edmund Auction House. Then Abel proceeded to Harry's Weapon Shop and handed over two refined greatswords to the manager for processing. He did not inquire further, as the shop manager was the business expert. After checking the time, Abel called for a carriage driver to go to the blacksmith guild to pick up Master Bensum and return to the castle.
