(Jessie’s POV)
I don’t know how long I just stood there, in my parents' arms, holding onto them for dear life as mom and dad both wept right along with me. If I weren’t so caught up in the moment, I would've laughed because mom and dad kept taking turns whispering things like “shhhh, it’s okay”, “we’re here, we’ve got you baby-girl”, “we love you so much” and, quite possibly my personal favorite, “you haven’t changed a bit”.
That was mom. I guess she still hasn’t caught on to the whole ‘vampires don’t age’ thing yet. I mean, we do. It’s just really, really slow. At least according to what I’ve read on the super-web, that is.
